Amrutam, a startup based in Gwalior, is reshaping the future of Ayurveda with its range of detox products, which are making a meaningful impact on people’s lives. The company’s ayurvedic journey began in 2006 with the co-founders Ashok and Chandrakanta Gupta, when it was a small setup focused on making herbal malts and Ayurvedic formulations.

Today, this Ayurveda-based Lifestyle Brand has created a Wellness Community that brings together individuals who are as passionate about Ayurveda and natural living.

Rooted in Curiosity, Grown with Purpose

What started as a deep interest in Ayurveda, spirituality, and the idea of healing through nature gradually became a way of life for the founders of Amrutam. Their journey began with collecting old books and scriptures, slowly diving into the vast knowledge held in ancient Ayurvedic texts.

Over time, with dedicated research and a growing understanding of Sanskrit and its poetic language, they began uncovering timeless insights. Their travels, encounters with sages, and stories from spiritual teachers added layers to their learning.

Through this process, they came to a powerful realization: nature holds the answers to good health, and humans are deeply connected to it.

With the thought of ‘We are Nature, and Nature is Us, ‘ they started the journey of building Amrutam as a one-stop ayurvedic solution for all physical problems.

Pivoting with Purpose, Touching Thousands

The journey was not easy, and despite their experience in a similar field, the business struggled financially and, by 2016, was close to shutting down. That’s when the next generation entered the business to take it to the next transformative level.

In 2017, Agnim and Stuti Gupta, the founders’ children, stepped in to revive the struggling family business. Seeing the growing importance of the online space, they decided to rebrand Amrutam and shift to a direct-to-consumer (D2C) approach.

They took charge of building a new website, redesigned the product packaging, and began promoting the brand through social media. Just a month after the relaunch, Amrutam received its first online order, and from there, the brand started gaining steady momentum.

Backed by Standards: Certified by AYUSH, PETA & USFDA

Today, Amrutam has expanded its offerings to over 100 Ayurvedic products, covering personal care, health supplements, and general wellness. The brand focuses on using raw herbs, many of which are grown in its garden, known as the “Vatika,” rather than relying on herbal extracts.

They have facilities that meet PETA and USFDA standards. Amrutam continues to prioritize quality, safety, and authenticity in everything it produces. This is why they have received certifications from the Ministry of AYUSH for providing Quality and Authenticity in their product.

Revenue & Reach

Amrutam has seen steady growth over the years. Starting with a small number of online orders, the company recorded ₹69 lakh in revenue in FY 2020. This figure rose to ₹2.78 crore in FY 2021 and further increased to ₹3.2 crore in FY 2022–23. Today, Amrutam serves more than 60,000 users each month, with nearly 5% of its sales coming from international buyers.

Amrutam’s journey is a reflection of how tradition can evolve without losing its essence. What began as a small, family-run venture rooted in Ayurveda has grown into a modern wellness brand through persistence, adaptation, and a deep respect for ancient knowledge.

By combining age-old practices with thoughtful innovation, Amrutam has managed to create products that speak to today’s health-conscious generation while staying true to its original values. As it continues to grow, the brand remains grounded in its purpose: to make holistic wellness accessible, trustworthy, and rooted in nature.
