Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup Ultraviolette has raised $85 million in a fresh funding round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, as it prepares to scale motorcycle production and expand into international markets, including the US in 2027.

The round also saw participation from Walden International chairman Lip-Bu Tan and the company’s existing investors. Alongside his investment, Tan has joined Ultraviolette as an advisor.

The fresh capital will support the company’s manufacturing expansion, development of new electric vehicle platforms and efforts to strengthen its position in overseas markets.

Ultraviolette to Scale F77 and X-47 Production

Ultraviolette plans to use the funding to increase production of its existing electric motorcycles, including the F77 and X-47. The company will also direct capital towards its upcoming Tesseract electric scooter and Shockwave enduro motorcycle.

Beyond vehicle manufacturing, the startup is investing in the next generation of electric vehicle platforms. Its development priorities include battery technology, power electronics, vehicle architecture and intelligent software.

The investment comes as Ultraviolette prepares to expand its manufacturing capabilities. The company has announced a new facility with an annual production capacity of up to 500,000 units, giving it additional capacity to support its product pipeline and international expansion plans.

US Entry Planned for 2027

Ultraviolette is targeting the US market in 2027, marking a significant step in its international expansion strategy.

The company also plans to enter more markets across Latin America and Southeast Asia. It currently sells its electric motorcycles in India and 20 European countries.

The planned expansion comes as Ultraviolette looks to take its electric vehicle technology beyond its existing markets. Its upcoming production scale-up and investment in next-generation platforms are expected to support its ambitions across multiple regions.

Ultraviolette’s Disclosed Funding Reaches $151 Million

The latest $85 million investment follows an earlier $66 million raised as part of the company’s ongoing Series E round.

That earlier funding included $21 million from TDK Ventures and $45 million from Zoho Corporation and Lingotto.

With the latest round, Ultraviolette has raised a total of $151 million across these disclosed fundraises since August 2025.

The participation of TDK Ventures in both funding rounds also highlights its continued investment in the electric mobility startup.

Founders and Technology Focus

Founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette develops electric vehicle platforms and battery technology.

The company has built battery architectures ranging from 48V to 400V and says its in-house technology capabilities extend across multiple vehicle segments.

Its investor base includes Lingotto, TDK Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motors and Speciale Invest.

With fresh capital, an expanded manufacturing base and a planned US entry in 2027, Ultraviolette is preparing to scale its electric mobility business across both established and new markets.

The company’s next phase will focus on increasing vehicle production while continuing to develop the battery systems, electronics and software that underpin its electric vehicle platforms.
