American political commentator Tucker Carlson has warned that President Donald Trump could decide within days whether to authorize a nuclear strike against Iran, alleging that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressing Washington to attack a suspected underground nuclear facility.

In a lengthy social media statement, Carlson identified the potential target as Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where he claimed Israeli intelligence believes Tehran has resumed uranium enrichment. He suggested Trump could make a decision by November 7, although he provided no publicly verifiable evidence confirming that a nuclear attack is under consideration.

Carlson claimed the suspected enrichment tunnels lie beneath approximately 300 feet of granite, making them inaccessible to conventional American weapons.

He argued that a nuclear strike would therefore be the only military option capable of destroying the alleged facility. Neither the technical assessment nor the reported intelligence findings were independently substantiated in his account.

Carlson Alleges Netanyahu Is Pressuring Trump

A central element of Carlson’s warning concerns Netanyahu’s alleged efforts to influence the Trump administration.

Carlson claimed the Israeli leader is facing a political crisis following recent election results and needs Trump’s intervention to secure enough parliamentary support to remain in office.

Citing an unnamed observer, Carlson alleged that Netanyahu contacts Trump daily about the potential operation.

He further claimed that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, US Central Command chief Brad Cooper, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe favor positions aligned with Netanyahu’s approach toward Iran.

These assertions were not accompanied by documented evidence or on-record statements from the officials involved.

Carlson also alleged that former President Barack Obama had expressed opposition to a proposed Iran peace agreement being developed in Doha. That claim likewise remains unverified.

Vance and Witkoff Reportedly Favor Diplomacy

Despite his warning about a possible military escalation, Carlson portrayed Trump as undecided.

He claimed Vice President JD Vance and presidential envoy Steve Witkoff are encouraging the president to pursue a negotiated settlement rather than authorize another major attack.

According to Carlson’s account, Iranian decision-makers also recognize the risks of further conflict and are potentially willing to negotiate.

Warning of Regional and Global Consequences

Carlson argued that a nuclear attack on Iran could have devastating consequences beyond the immediate target.

He warned that radioactive fallout from an underground nuclear explosion could threaten water supplies across the Persian Gulf. He also raised concerns about shipping disruptions, energy markets and wider economic instability.

His statement included claims about damage to oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and the possibility that other nuclear-armed countries could view an American strike as justification for using their own weapons.

Carlson specifically warned of potential escalation involving Russia, Ukraine, India, Pakistan and North Korea.

While nuclear weapons use would carry extraordinary humanitarian and geopolitical risks, Carlson’s projections about specific casualties, environmental damage and an inevitable global war were not supported by independently verifiable assessments in the statement.

Nuclear Strike Allegations Remain Unverified

Carlson also claimed that the Trump administration had quietly revised American nuclear doctrine to make the first use of tactical nuclear weapons easier.

The United States remains the only country to have used nuclear weapons in warfare, making any renewed wartime use a decision of exceptional international significance.

For now, Carlson’s account raises serious allegations about US military planning, Israeli political pressure and possible negotiations with Iran.

Carlson has issued a warning about a possible nuclear strike, not presented independently confirmed evidence of an impending American attack.
