Bengaluru-based energy technology startup Dreamfly Innovations has raised Rs 3 crore in non-dilutive venture debt from the Small Industries Development Bank of India. The funding will be used to strengthen working capital and expand manufacturing capacity as the company scales its operations.

The latest infusion provides Dreamfly with financial flexibility without equity dilution, allowing it to focus on execution and growth while maintaining ownership structure. The capital is expected to support increased production volumes and smoother operational cycles as demand for its products rises.

Focus on advanced batteries for high-performance applications

Dreamfly Innovations designs and manufactures smart battery systems for drones, aviation, and aerospace applications. The company specialises in advanced energy storage technologies, including lithium solid-state and graphene-based batteries. These systems are engineered to offer higher energy density, improved safety, and enhanced thermal performance compared to conventional battery solutions.

Such performance characteristics are critical for aerial and aerospace platforms, where weight efficiency, reliability, and thermal stability directly affect operational safety and endurance. Dreamfly’s technology is built to perform consistently under demanding conditions, addressing key challenges faced by operators of unmanned and advanced aerial systems.

Proprietary design and intelligent management systems

A defining feature of Dreamfly’s products is its proprietary thermal-case architecture combined with intelligent battery management systems. This integrated design helps regulate temperature, monitor performance in real time, and protect battery health during high-stress operations.

The company’s battery management systems are designed to ensure reliability and safety across extended usage cycles. By combining hardware innovation with smart control systems, Dreamfly aims to deliver energy solutions suited for mission-critical environments where failure is not an option.

Manufacturing-led B2B business model

Dreamfly operates a B2B, manufacturing-led business model, supplying customised battery packs and power solutions to original equipment manufacturers and enterprise customers. Its offerings are tailored to specific platform requirements, making them suitable for a wide range of applications across unmanned aerial systems, defence-linked programs, and emerging aerospace use cases.

Rather than focusing on mass-market consumer products, the company positions itself as a specialised supplier capable of meeting precise technical and compliance requirements. This approach allows Dreamfly to work closely with customers during the design and integration stages, ensuring optimal performance within complex systems.

Revenue driven by long-term partnerships

The company generates revenue through long-term supply contracts, co-development engagements, and repeat orders as customers scale their deployments. This model provides visibility into future demand while strengthening relationships with clients who rely on consistent quality and performance.

Co-development projects also enable Dreamfly to refine its technology based on real-world operational needs, creating solutions that are closely aligned with customer requirements. As platforms move from pilot phases to larger-scale deployment, repeat orders form a key component of the firm’s revenue stream.

Backing from institutional and venture investors

Dreamfly Innovations is backed by Avaana Capital, providing it with strategic support alongside financial backing. The venture debt from SIDBI adds an institutional layer to its funding profile, reflecting confidence in the company’s business model and growth prospects.

The combination of venture capital backing and non-dilutive debt positions Dreamfly to invest in infrastructure and operational scale without compromising long-term strategic control.

Positioning as a domestic supplier of mission-critical systems

As demand for high-performance energy storage grows across drones and advanced mobility platforms, Dreamfly is positioning itself as a domestic supplier of mission-critical battery systems built for precision and safety. Its focus on advanced materials, thermal management, and intelligent control systems aligns with the needs of next-generation aerial and aerospace applications.

With the fresh capital, the company aims to deepen its manufacturing capabilities and support expanding customer requirements. The funding marks a step forward in Dreamfly’s efforts to scale responsibly while reinforcing its role in India’s evolving energy and aerospace technology ecosystem.
