Moxie Beauty has raised $15 million in a Series A round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with Fireside Ventures participating. The round also saw backing from angel investors including Navin Parwal, Sangeet Agarwal, and Arjun Purkayastha.
Moxie Beauty: A brand built around Indian hair needs
Founded in the year 2023 by Nikita Khanna and Anmol Ahlawat, Moxie Beauty is presented as a clean, professional hair product brand designed for Indian textures of hair and climatic conditions, which was an area neither of them could find an effective solution for, having a personal need for such a product themselves.

At the moment, the company has 19 products related to hair care, maintenance, styling, and scalp care. It has also tapped into new and innovative categories like hair finish and wax stick categories that focus on addressing the needs related to hair flyaways and easy styling solutions.
Where the funding will be used?
Moxie Beauty says the fresh capital will be deployed across three core priorities:
- Product innovation and research (including new formats and deeper work in styling and scalp health)
- Talent hiring across key functions
- Scaling distribution to expand reach across channels
Performance claims the company is highlighting
Moxie Beauty says it has crossed Rs 100 crore in ARR within two years of launch and has quadrupled monthly revenue over the past year since November 2024. The company also says 10 of its products rank among bestsellers in their categories on Nykaa and Amazon, and that customer retention exceeds 40%.
Separately, the brand notes that it sources a portion of raw materials globally, develops formulations in-house, and is building products it describes as first-of-their-kind in the Indian market.
The larger signal in India’s beauty market
The fundraise signifies an even larger trend occurring in the personal care industry in India, which is a shift in what consumers begin to demand of products. A product no longer needs to be ‘clean’ in terms of ingredient positioning. It also needs to be designed with the characteristics of Indian hair in mind.
For Moxie Beauty, the next phase is simple: continue to turn formulation-driven differentiation into repeat business while unlocking new channels without compromising what originally made loyal consumers stick with them in the first place.
