Former BharatPe Managing Director and co-founder Ashneer Grover has launched Fund My Staff, a new fintech platform designed to help employees access loans with the support of their employers. The platform allows employers to act as guarantors for employee loans, making credit more accessible, particularly for individuals with limited or no credit history.
Grover announced the launch of Fund My Staff through a LinkedIn post on Thursday, introducing the platform as a solution that connects employers, employees, and regulated lending institutions under a structured lending framework.
A New Model for Workplace Credit Access
Fund My Staff aims to simplify the borrowing process by allowing employers to support their workforce without directly funding the loans. Instead, employers serve as guarantors, helping employees secure financing from RBI-registered lending partners.
The platform is intended for businesses looking to provide an additional financial benefit to their employees while ensuring that lending remains regulated and transparent. It also seeks to address one of the common challenges faced by many salaried workers, particularly first-time borrowers, who may struggle to qualify for loans due to an insufficient credit history.
According to the platform, the employer’s guarantee can improve employees’ access to formal credit while keeping the loan process streamlined.

How the Lending Process Works
Fund My Staff provides separate workflows for employers and employees.
Employers can register on the platform, onboard their workforce, define loan eligibility and limits, review loan applications submitted by employees, and approve them by acting as guarantors. Once a request receives employer approval and is processed by the lending partner, the loan amount is disbursed directly to the employee.
Employees also have the option to initiate the process by submitting a loan request through the platform. After their employer reviews and approves the request, the loan is processed by the lending partner. Repayment is made through monthly equated monthly instalments (EMIs) over the selected loan tenure.
The platform states that employers do not provide the loan amount themselves. Their role is limited to acting as guarantors, while the funds are disbursed by the lending institution and repaid by the employee according to the agreed repayment schedule.
Operates Under RBI Digital Lending Framework
Fund My Staff states that it functions as a Lending Service Provider (LSP) and follows the Reserve Bank of India’s digital lending guidelines.
As outlined on the platform’s website, loans are originated and sanctioned by RBI-registered lending partners rather than by Fund My Staff itself. The platform currently lists Ash Grove Capital Private Limited, an RBI-registered Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), as its lending partner.
This structure ensures that loan origination and approval remain within the regulatory framework applicable to digital lending in India, while the platform facilitates the application and approval process between employers, employees, and lending institutions.
Built by Third Unicorn
Fund My Staff has been developed by Third Unicorn, the Delhi-based venture founded by Ashneer Grover and Aseem Ghavri following Grover’s departure from BharatPe.
Since its inception, Third Unicorn has introduced multiple fintech-focused products aimed at addressing different financial use cases.
In 2024, the company launched ZeroPe, a fintech application focused on financing medical expenses. It had also launched CrickPe, a fantasy cricket platform, which ceased operations in February last year.
The launch of Fund My Staff marks another addition to Third Unicorn’s portfolio, this time focusing on employer-supported employee lending.
Expanding Financial Support Through Employers
With Fund My Staff, Third Unicorn is introducing a lending model that places employers at the centre of the credit approval process without requiring them to finance employee loans directly. By acting as guarantors, employers can help eligible staff members access formal credit through regulated lending partners.
The platform combines employer participation with RBI-compliant lending processes, offering a structured mechanism for employees to apply for loans and repay them through monthly EMIs. As employer-backed financial benefits continue to gain attention in the workplace, Fund My Staff adds a new approach to employee credit access within India’s regulated digital lending ecosystem.
