Anjali Sardana, founder of instant household services startup Pronto, has launched a new US-based venture, Provision Labs, focused on building infrastructure for artificial intelligence systems capable of performing tasks in the physical world.
Headquartered in San Francisco, the startup will develop technology supporting the data, evaluation and deployment of physical AI systems. Its goal is to provide the infrastructure needed for AI to interact with objects and operate in real-world environments, according to details published on the company’s website.
Provision Labs has attracted backing from prominent investors, including Lachy Groom, General Catalyst, Bain Capital Ventures and Glade Brook Capital.
Although the company has identified its investors, the amount of funding raised and other financial details remain undisclosed.
The new venture marks a significant expansion of Sardana’s entrepreneurial interests, taking her from technology-enabled household services into artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Sardana is also the founder and CEO of Pronto, a platform that connects households with service professionals for everyday tasks, including cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
According to Provision Labs’ LinkedIn profile, Sardana serves as the new company’s founder and chief executive officer while continuing to hold the same leadership position at Pronto.
Unlike Pronto’s consumer-focused service model, Provision Labs is concentrating on the underlying technology required to support AI systems that can interact with their physical surroundings.
The startup’s focus on data, evaluation and deployment reflects its intended role in supporting the development of physical AI rather than providing household services directly.
With Provision Labs, Sardana is now leading two businesses operating in distinct sectors, while the new venture sets out to develop infrastructure for AI applications beyond purely digital environments.
