Samsung’s next flagship smartphone series is already attracting attention, even though its launch is still months away. The Galaxy S27 Ultra, expected to arrive in early 2027, is at the centre of several leaks pointing towards changes in camera design, processor technology, battery efficiency and video recording.

One detail that stands out is the uncertainty surrounding the phone’s rear camera arrangement. Different leaks and design materials appear to show different layouts, making the camera module one of the most closely watched aspects of the upcoming flagship.

A new video from Talks Daily Tech brings together several of these developments, including the possibility of a new Pro variant that could expand Samsung’s Galaxy S27 lineup.

Galaxy S27 Ultra Camera Design Remains Unclear

The rear camera arrangement could bring a noticeable design change to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, although the available information does not establish what the final layout will look like.

Some reports point towards an additional camera module that could accommodate extra sensors and a microphone. However, inconsistencies between third-party case designs and CAD renderings have made it difficult to identify Samsung’s actual design direction.

Beyond the physical arrangement, camera performance is expected to remain a major focus. Potential improvements could involve larger sensors and software-based image processing enhancements. However, the exact camera specifications have not been confirmed.

Video recording is another area where the Ultra model could receive significant attention, particularly with reported support for higher-resolution recording at faster frame rates.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Exynos 2700 Could Power the Series

Processor selection could be another important aspect of the Galaxy S27 series. Samsung is reportedly considering two chipsets: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and its own Exynos 2700.

Both processors are expected to use 2nm manufacturing technology, which could bring improvements in processing performance and power efficiency.

The Snapdragon chipset is tipped to feature in selected regional variants, while the Exynos 2700 could return in other markets. There are also suggestions of an Extreme version of the Snapdragon processor, although its availability and specifications remain unclear.

Early battery simulations have added another dimension to the comparison. The Exynos 2700 reportedly recorded up to 17.7 hours of usage, compared with 16.2 hours for the Snapdragon-powered version.

These figures suggest a possible efficiency advantage for Exynos, but they should not be treated as actual battery-life results. Real-world performance will depend on hardware optimisation, software, usage patterns and other factors.

Exynos Variant Could Have a Battery Efficiency Advantage

The reported difference between the two processors makes battery performance an interesting aspect of Samsung’s upcoming flagship series.

According to the simulated results, the Exynos-powered model could last approximately 1.5 hours longer than its Snapdragon counterpart. However, controlled testing does not always reflect everyday smartphone usage.

Activities such as gaming, video streaming, multitasking and 8K recording can place different demands on a smartphone’s processor and battery.

Samsung’s optimisation will therefore play an important role in determining whether the reported efficiency improvements translate into a noticeable difference for users.

Galaxy S27 Pro Could Join the Plus and Ultra Models

Another interesting possibility is the introduction of a Galaxy S27 Pro model. If Samsung moves forward with this variant, it could create an additional option between the Plus and Ultra smartphones.

The rumoured configuration includes 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. This would give the device considerable storage capacity while keeping its memory configuration below the reported 16GB option for the Ultra.

The Pro model’s positioning could also give Samsung more flexibility in its flagship lineup. However, details about its camera hardware, display size, pricing and availability are yet to be established.

For now, the Pro variant remains a rumour rather than a confirmed addition to the Galaxy S27 family.

Galaxy S27 Series Storage and RAM Options

The leaked configurations suggest that Samsung could offer different memory and storage combinations across its upcoming smartphones.

The anticipated options include:

  • Galaxy S27: 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, alongside a possible 128GB option in selected markets.
  • Galaxy S27 Plus: 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage.
  • Galaxy S27 Pro: 12GB RAM with storage of up to 1TB.
  • Galaxy S27 Ultra: 16GB RAM with storage of up to 1TB.

If these configurations prove accurate, the Ultra would retain the highest reported RAM capacity in the lineup, while the Pro could offer a larger storage option for users who do not necessarily need the top-end model.

8K Recording at 60fps Could Be a Major Ultra Feature

Video capabilities could become one of the major talking points surrounding the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Leaks suggest that Samsung may introduce 8K video recording at 60 frames per second. The device could also support 4K slow-motion recording at 240fps, giving users additional options for capturing detailed footage and slow-motion sequences.

These features would require close coordination between the camera hardware and the phone’s processing capabilities. If implemented, they could expand the recording options available to content creators and users who regularly shoot high-resolution videos using their smartphones.

However, Samsung has not officially confirmed either recording specification.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Series Expected in Early 2027

The Galaxy S27 series is currently expected to arrive in early 2027, with an announcement potentially taking place during the first quarter.

For now, the camera layout remains one of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The reported processor options, battery simulation results, video recording capabilities and possible Pro model add further details to an increasingly interesting collection of leaks.

Samsung has not officially confirmed the specifications or lineup discussed so far. More clarity on the final design and hardware is expected as the anticipated launch approaches.
