Ken Urker, the former fiancé of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, has died at the age of 33 after being discovered unresponsive at his home in Louisiana on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Urker, who shared a daughter with Blanchard, was reportedly found by her brother, Dylan, on the day he was celebrating his birthday.
According to TMZ, Blanchard had sent Urker a text wishing him a happy birthday earlier that day but received no response. Her brother Dylan and his wife had reportedly made plans to take Urker out for dinner before arriving at the property and discovering him unresponsive.
The Lafourche Sheriff’s Office subsequently confirmed receiving a notification about the incident at 6:15 pm Central Daylight Time (CDT).
In a statement given to E! News, the sheriff’s office said, “We were notified about this at 6:15pm CDT and responded. He was found dead upon arrival. At this time, we are continuing the death investigation.”

Urker’s cause of death remains unknown. Although authorities have confirmed that he was found dead at his residence, no official medical findings or circumstances explaining his death have been released.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Breaks Silence on Ken Urker’s Death
Following news of Urker’s death, Blanchard, 35, issued an emotional statement to TMZ, remembering her former partner and speaking about their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, who was born on December 28, 2024.
Blanchard described Urker as someone who “will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase”.
She also alleged that Urker had experienced relentless cyberbullying and significant public scrutiny before his death, describing the online treatment directed towards him as cruelty that nobody should have to endure.
“Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved,” she said.
Speaking about their daughter, Blanchard added that she would ensure Aurora grew up knowing how much her father loved her and understood who he was beyond the opinions of strangers on the internet.
Blanchard’s comments about online harassment have not been established as having any connection to Urker’s death, the cause of which remains unconfirmed.

Ken Urker became publicly known through his relationship with Blanchard, whom he first met as a prison pen pal in 2017.
At the time, Blanchard was serving a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the 2015 killing of her mother, Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard.
Their correspondence eventually developed into a romantic relationship, and the couple became engaged in October 2018. However, their engagement ended in 2019.
Blanchard subsequently married Ryan Anderson in 2022 while still incarcerated. Following her release on parole in December 2023, her marriage to Anderson broke down, and she rekindled her relationship with Urker in 2024.
The couple announced they were expecting a child together and welcomed their daughter, Aurora, on December 28, 2024. A prenatal DNA test had confirmed Urker as the biological father.
Despite reuniting and starting a family, Blanchard and Urker later separated again. They were no longer romantically together at the time of his death.
Urker’s death comes just months before their daughter is due to celebrate her second birthday.
