The Denver Nuggets have signed a one-year deal with Lonnie Walker IV, a free-agent guard, for the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season.
Walker’s deal is worth approximately $3.3 million and will be signed at the veteran minimum. He is set to earn $3,286,399, while the Nuggets will carry a salary-cap charge of $2,449,421. The report did not confirm whether the contract is fully guaranteed.
The 27-year-old shooting guard gives Denver an athletic option on the perimeter following the departures of Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Pickett during the offseason. At 6-foot-4, Walker brings NBA experience and a track record of providing points in a rotational role.
Walker spent last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv, marking his first full campaign outside the NBA since the San Antonio Spurs selected him with the 18th overall pick in the 2018 draft. In EuroLeague competition, he averaged 15.2 points per game while recording shooting splits of 39.4 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from three-point range and 75.8 percent from the free-throw line.
His most recent NBA appearance came with the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2024-25 season. Walker played 20 games for Philadelphia and averaged a career-high 12.4 points per contest. Across his last five NBA seasons, he produced 11.3 points in 22.4 minutes per game while shooting 35.2 percent from beyond the arc.
The signing adds another decision to Denver’s roster planning. Before officially bringing Walker aboard, the Nuggets had 13 players on standard guaranteed contracts. The team also has Peyton Watson’s restricted free agency to resolve.
While the deal is a sign for Walker that he can return to the NBA following a successful season in Europe, for Denver it is a chance to bring in a backcourt player with experience on a one-year deal.
