Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI could require around 210GB of storage space, according to a recent online leak. If the reported file size proves accurate, the game could take up a substantial portion of the available storage on a standard PlayStation 5, leaving players with less room for other games.
With the game scheduled to launch on November 19, the reported download size has added another detail for players preparing their consoles ahead of release. However, Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the game’s final download size, so the figure should be treated as a rumour for now.
GTA 6 Download Size Leak Points to 210GB File
The reported download size was shared by X user, with gaming news outlet Insider Gaming also supporting the claim. The leak suggests that GTA 6 could occupy approximately 210GB of storage.
The figure follows an earlier claim from leakster CyberLeek, who suggested that the game could exceed 200GB. Although neither report confirms the final installation requirements, both point towards a potentially large download for Rockstar’s next major release.
For PS5 owners, a 210GB installation would represent a significant storage commitment. Players with multiple games installed may need to remove older titles or free up additional space before downloading GTA 6.
It is also worth noting that the download size may not reflect the total storage required after installation. Temporary files, additional game packages, patches and future updates could increase the amount of space needed on the console.
Why GTA 6 Pre-Loading Could Matter for Players
The reported file size also brings attention to the pre-loading arrangements expected ahead of the launch. According to the information provided, players who pre-order the game on Sony and Microsoft consoles may be able to pre-load it seven days before release.
Pre-loading allows players to download a game before its official launch, reducing the amount of time they need to wait for the download on release day. For a title potentially exceeding 200GB, having the files ready in advance could be particularly useful.
However, players should wait for official confirmation of the pre-load schedule and final storage requirements before making decisions about their console storage.
GTA 6 Reviews Could Arrive a Day Before Launch
The download-size leak comes amid reports that Rockstar Games is distributing review codes to selected media outlets and influencers ahead of launch.
The reports suggest that the review embargo has been set for November 18, one day before the game’s scheduled release. If that timing holds, players could get an early look at gameplay, missions and other details before the title becomes available.
Reviews could provide a clearer picture of the game’s performance and overall experience on supported consoles. The reported embargo date, however, has not been established here as an official announcement from Rockstar Games.
GTA 6 Release Date, Consoles and Gameplay Details
GTA 6 is scheduled to arrive on November 19 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The release will follow GTA V, which arrived in 2013.
The new instalment will feature two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, whose story will unfold through crime-driven missions in Vice City. The narrative will place the two characters at the centre of the game’s events, with their ability to depend on each other forming part of the storyline.
The game is expected to bring players back to Vice City, a setting familiar to longtime fans of the franchise.
GTA 6 Price in India and Pre-Order Bonuses
The supplied pricing information lists GTA 6 at ₹5,999 for the Standard Edition and ₹7,499 for the Ultimate Edition.
Players who pre-order the game are expected to receive one month of GTA+ access and the Vintage Vice City pack. The Ultimate Edition bundle is also listed as offering additional in-game items, including customised weapons, outfits and cars.
With the launch approaching, the reported 210GB file size is another detail prospective buyers will want to consider alongside the game’s price and edition options.
For now, the most important point is that GTA 6’s reported 210GB download size remains unconfirmed. Players should wait for official storage requirements before clearing significant space on their consoles or purchasing additional storage specifically for the game.
