Seafood infrastructure startup Dam Good Fish (DGF) has raised a strategic funding round at a valuation of approximately Rs 30 crore, or about $3.6 million. The company confirmed that the newly secured capital will be directed toward strengthening its technology backbone and expanding its operational footprint.
According to the company, the funds will primarily be used to enhance its AI-driven demand and supply systems, scale up supply and processing infrastructure, and support entry into new metro markets. The investment will also help DGF build stronger teams across critical functions such as supply chain management, data analytics, and operations.
Building a Farm-to-Consumer Seafood Model
Founded in 2023 by Shobhit Gaur and Shailesh Patel, Dam Good Fish focuses on delivering fresh, naturally raised fish directly from dams to consumers. The company aims to provide chemical-free seafood while maintaining high standards of quality, sustainability, and transparency.
By sourcing fish directly and minimizing intermediaries, DGF is working to create a more efficient and traceable seafood supply chain. Its model is designed to ensure that consumers receive fresher products while also supporting responsible sourcing practices.

AI-Powered Demand-to-Harvest System
At the core of DGF’s operations is its proprietary “Demand-to-Harvest” system. This approach uses artificial intelligence to predict demand at a highly granular level, including specific pincodes. Based on these forecasts, procurement and harvesting activities are aligned closely with actual consumption patterns.
This system allows the company to optimize inventory flow through a controlled cold-chain network. As a result, it helps reduce post-harvest waste and improves inventory turnover. These efficiencies contribute to better unit economics and operational sustainability.
DGF integrates AI across multiple operational areas, including demand forecasting, procurement intelligence, inventory optimization, and cold-chain monitoring. This technology-led approach is central to the company’s effort to modernize seafood distribution in urban markets.
Strong Traction in Delhi NCR Market
Operating from Gurugram, DGF has already established a presence in the Delhi NCR region. The company reports a repeat purchase rate of over 55 percent, indicating consistent customer retention. It currently serves more than 5,000 active households in the region.
In addition to its direct-to-consumer business, DGF has formed partnerships with B2B platforms such as Hyperpure. These collaborations enable the company to extend its reach within the food service ecosystem and strengthen its distribution network.
Planned Expansion into Major Metro Cities
Looking ahead, Dam Good Fish plans to deepen its presence in Delhi NCR while preparing for expansion into other key metropolitan markets, including Mumbai and Bengaluru. The company has stated that its growth strategy will remain measured and focused.
Rather than pursuing rapid scale, DGF intends to expand with a focus on achieving high density at the pincode level, encouraging repeat consumption, and building predictable demand cycles. This controlled approach is expected to support sustainable growth while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.
Focus on Sustainable and Efficient Seafood Supply Chains
Through its combination of direct sourcing, AI integration, and cold-chain infrastructure, Dam Good Fish is working to address longstanding inefficiencies in seafood distribution. By aligning harvesting closely with demand and reducing wastage, the company aims to build a more sustainable supply chain model.
With fresh funding in place and expansion plans underway, DGF is positioning itself to strengthen its role in India’s evolving seafood market while continuing to prioritize quality, transparency, and operational precision.
