The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has appointed its President and Chief Executive Officer, Shailesh Jejurikar, as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, effective August 1. The announcement marks a significant leadership transition at one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies, with Jejurikar taking on the additional responsibility while continuing to serve as President and CEO.

He succeeds Jon Moeller, who will step down from the Board on July 31 and retire from the company on August 14 after a long career with P&G.

The appointment places Jejurikar at the helm of both the company’s executive leadership and its board, reflecting the confidence P&G has placed in his decades of experience and leadership within the organization.

Leadership Changes After Jon Moeller’s Retirement

As part of the planned transition, Jon Moeller will conclude his tenure after serving the company in several of its most senior leadership positions during his 38-year career. Over the years, he held roles including Executive Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, helping guide P&G through multiple phases of growth and transformation.

Following the announcement, Jejurikar acknowledged Moeller’s contribution to the company and thanked him for his years of service.

“I want to thank Jon for his many years of tireless and steady leadership at P&G, having served in key roles including Executive Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer throughout his 38 years of dedicated service to the company,” Jejurikar said.

He added that Moeller’s strategic vision played an important role in shaping the company and praised his commitment to the organization and its employees.

A Career Spanning More Than Three Decades

Born in Mumbai, Shailesh Jejurikar has spent more than 37 years at P&G, making him one of the company’s longest-serving senior leaders.

He joined the consumer goods giant on July 1, 1989, shortly after earning his Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Mumbai University.

Throughout his career, Jejurikar has worked across a wide range of business functions, product categories and international markets. His assignments have taken him across North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa, where he played an important role in strengthening P&G’s Fabric Care and Home Care businesses.

In addition to leading consumer brands, he has contributed to the company’s broader business operations, including supply chain management, information technology and global business services.

From Chief Operating Officer to CEO

Before becoming President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2026, Jejurikar served as P&G’s Chief Operating Officer.

In that position, he oversaw the company’s Enterprise Markets, which include India, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe. His responsibilities also extended across several key corporate functions such as Information Technology, Global Business Services, Sales, Market Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution and New Business.

His broad operational experience across both developed and emerging markets has made him one of P&G’s most experienced global executives.

Leading One of the World’s Largest Consumer Goods Companies

As President, CEO and now Chairman of the Board, Jejurikar will lead one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies through its next phase of growth.

According to P&G, the company serves approximately five billion consumers across more than 180 countries each year through its portfolio of household and personal care brands.

With his extensive international experience, long association with the company and leadership across multiple business functions, Jejurikar’s appointment marks another milestone in his distinguished career at P&G. His elevation also represents a significant moment for Indian-origin executives in global corporate leadership, as he assumes one of the most influential roles within the multinational consumer goods company.
