Indian AI-powered procurement intelligence startup ContraVault AI has secured $3.1 million (around ₹29.3 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Chiratae Ventures, with participation from existing investor Titan Capital. The fresh capital will support the company’s expansion into the United States while strengthening its product capabilities and team.

Founded in 2024 by Sayan Sen, Isha Juneja, and Tanmay Juneja, ContraVault AI develops software designed to simplify and automate the tender bidding process for enterprises operating in sectors such as construction, energy, power, defence, and aerospace.

Building Efficiency Into Complex Procurement Workflows

Tender procurement and bidding often involve extensive documentation, multiple approval layers, and significant manual effort. ContraVault AI aims to address these challenges through an AI-driven platform that helps organizations identify relevant bidding opportunities, assess risks, and manage bid submissions more efficiently.

The company focuses on improving decision-making throughout the procurement lifecycle. Its software provides visibility across the entire bidding process, helping enterprises identify tenders that align with their capabilities and requirements. It also assists teams in preparing and submitting bids, a process that can traditionally require hundreds of hours of work and numerous stakeholder approvals.

According to the company, its platform helps streamline procurement workflows while reducing the operational burden associated with tender management.

Expanding Product Capabilities Across the Bidding Lifecycle

ContraVault AI currently offers 13 specialized modules designed to support different stages of tender evaluation and submission. These include RiskFinder, which helps identify potential risks within tender documents, and AI Negotiator, which assists with reviewing and editing contractual clauses.

Other features include document summarization tools, tender synopsis generation, and a Go/No-Go Analyzer that helps companies evaluate whether a bidding opportunity aligns with their strategic and operational capabilities.

By combining these tools within a single platform, the startup seeks to help enterprises make faster and more informed bidding decisions.

Growing Customer Base Across Major Indian Enterprises

The startup currently serves 40 customers in India. Its client roster includes companies such as the Tata Group’s Voltas, Shapoorji Pallonji, Adani Group, and Sterling & Wilson.

According to CEO and co-founder Sayan Sen, the company’s customer base has doubled over the past two months, reflecting growing interest in AI-led procurement solutions among large enterprises.

Sen also stated that ContraVault’s platform enables clients to reduce the time required to process a single tender by 60% to 70%. At the same time, businesses using the platform have reportedly increased the number of bids they submit by 30% to 35%.

At present, around 85% of the startup’s business comes from organizations bidding for government projects. While this remains its primary market, the company has also begun developing capabilities aimed at serving private-sector procurement requirements.

Eyeing a Larger Global Opportunity

Before the current funding round, ContraVault AI had raised approximately $600,000 from Titan Capital and a group of angel investors.

The company claims that its software has analyzed tenders worth more than $2.5 billion to date. With infrastructure projects in India largely awarded through competitive tendering processes, ContraVault sees significant room for growth in the market.

The founders believe that procurement intelligence remains a highly specialized domain where industry-specific expertise can create meaningful differentiation. While general-purpose AI tools are becoming increasingly common, the company is focused on building deeper, sector-specific solutions tailored to complex procurement workflows.

US Market Becomes Key Growth Focus

A significant portion of the newly raised capital will be directed toward expanding operations in the United States. The company believes the market presents strong opportunities as businesses increasingly seek to digitize procurement and bidding operations.

To support this effort, ContraVault AI has already established a US subsidiary. The startup plans to build its presence by participating in construction-focused industry events and using them as a primary channel for customer acquisition.

Alongside geographic expansion, the company is also investing in advanced product development. One area of focus is the automation of engineering drawings used in infrastructure bidding processes. The capability is expected to strengthen its offering for larger enterprise customers while creating technological differentiation that may be more difficult for emerging competitors to replicate.

As it scales, ContraVault AI competes with established players in the tender management space, including TenderTiger, TendersInfo, and Tender 24X7. With fresh funding and an expanding product suite, the startup is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the growing procurement technology market.
