Chennai-based deeptech startup Dream Aerospace has raised Rs 10 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by 247VC, with participation from Campus Angels Network (CAN). The round also attracted investments from Chandigarh Angels Network and several other angel investors.

The fresh capital marks another milestone for the space technology startup as it accelerates the development and commercialization of its propulsion solutions for the growing small satellite industry.

Funding to Support Product Qualification and Space Demonstration

According to the company, the newly raised funds will be used to complete the flight qualification of its ATOM thruster series and the CUBEHOOD propulsion module. The investment will also support the expansion of Dream Aerospace’s production and testing facilities.

A key focus area for the company will be executing the first in-orbit demonstration of the CUBEHOOD module, an important step toward validating the technology in actual space conditions. Successful in-orbit testing is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the satellite propulsion market and pave the way for broader commercial adoption.

Building Propulsion Systems for the Small Satellite Era

Founded in 2022 by Hari Krishnan KJ and Rogith S, Dream Aerospace is an IIT Kanpur-incubated deeptech venture focused on developing green chemical propulsion systems for the global small satellite and CubeSat market.

As the demand for smaller and more cost-effective satellites continues to rise, propulsion systems have become a critical component of mission performance. These systems enable satellites to maneuver in orbit, maintain positioning, and extend operational lifespans.

Dream Aerospace is targeting this growing market by developing propulsion technologies designed to meet the requirements of modern satellite operators while emphasizing efficiency and sustainability.

Previous Investment Strengthened Early Development

The latest funding round follows an earlier capital raise completed in January last year. At that time, Dream Aerospace secured Rs 3 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV).

The pre-seed investment helped the startup advance its technology development and build the foundation for its current product portfolio. With the new funding, the company is moving toward critical qualification and demonstration milestones that are necessary before large-scale commercial deployment.

Growing Momentum in India’s Space Sector

The fundraising comes at a time when India’s space industry is witnessing increasing momentum, supported by rising private-sector participation and technological innovation.

The satellite manufacturing and propulsion segments are expected to play an important role in the expansion of the country’s space ecosystem. As more startups enter the sector with specialized technologies, propulsion solutions are emerging as a key area of focus due to their importance in satellite operations and mission success.

Dream Aerospace’s efforts align with the broader evolution of India’s private space industry, where companies are working to develop indigenous technologies capable of serving both domestic and international markets.

Focused on the Next Phase of Growth

With fresh capital in place, Dream Aerospace is preparing for the next stage of its growth journey. The company’s immediate priorities include completing flight qualification programs, expanding infrastructure, and demonstrating its propulsion technology in orbit.

These milestones are expected to be crucial as the startup advances from development and testing toward commercial readiness. By focusing on propulsion systems for small satellites and CubeSats, Dream Aerospace aims to address a rapidly expanding segment of the global space industry while strengthening India’s capabilities in advanced space technologies.
