KRAFTON India has confirmed December 10, 2026, as the launch date for BGMI Air, a lighter version of BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) designed for smartphones with limited storage and hardware capabilities. The upcoming game has already crossed 14 million pre-registrations on Google Play, building anticipation ahead of its India debut.
Before the public launch, KRAFTON will conduct a closed beta test from November 20 to November 24 across Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. The programme will give selected players an opportunity to access the game early and share feedback with developers, helping the company refine the experience before its wider release.
How to Participate in the BGMI Air Closed Beta
Players who want to participate in the closed beta must submit a video explaining why they should be among the first to experience BGMI Air.
Applicants need to tag the game’s official Instagram handle in their video and complete an application form available through the bio links on the official BGMI Air and BGMI Instagram accounts.
KRAFTON will review the submissions and select participants for the testing programme. The company has not disclosed how many players will be chosen for the closed beta.
BGMI Air Download Size and Gameplay
One of the main differences between BGMI Air and the existing BGMI application will be its smaller installation footprint. The upcoming game will have an initial download size of approximately 1GB, making it an option for players whose smartphones have limited storage or hardware capabilities.
Despite its reduced size, BGMI Air is intended to retain BGMI’s core gameplay experience. It will also be released as a separate application rather than replacing the existing game.
This means players can install BGMI Air independently without having to transfer their existing BGMI accounts to the new application. KRAFTON has not yet provided further details about supported smartphones, minimum system requirements or the complete list of features.
What to Expect Before the Launch
With 14 million pre-registrations already recorded, BGMI Air has attracted considerable interest ahead of its release. The closed beta programme will offer KRAFTON an opportunity to collect feedback from selected players before making the game available to the wider Indian audience.
The company has indicated that additional information about the game, along with pre-launch rewards, will be announced through BGMI Air’s official social media channels.
BGMI Air is scheduled to launch in India on December 10, 2026. Until then, details about device compatibility, gameplay features and other launch-related announcements remain awaited.
