Seapoint, an AI-native financial platform built for startup founders, has raised €7.5 million in seed funding as it opens its product to founders across the UK and Ireland.
The Dublin and London-based company said the round was led by 13books, with participation from Ventures Together, Portfolio Ventures, and more than 40 angel investors. Existing backers Frontline Ventures and Tapestry VC also returned. The raise takes Seapoint’s total funding to €10 million.
Among the angel investors are Claire Hughes Johnson, former COO of Stripe, George Bevis, founder of Tide, and Des Traynor, co-founder of Intercom.
Seapoint is targeting one of the most common pressure points for early-stage companies: financial visibility. For founders, the question is rarely just how much money is in the bank. It is how quickly that money is moving, where it is going, and whether the company has enough runway to hit its next milestone.
The platform brings together AI-led financial automation with multi-currency accounts, a money market treasury account and virtual cards. Founders can connect existing bank accounts, Gmail and accounting tools to see their company finances in one place. Seapoint’s AI categorises transactions by vendor name rather than accounting jargon, while real-time Xero syncing gives founders and accountants access to the same live data.
More than 80 companies are already using Seapoint. The platform has processed over 100,000 transactions and more than 40,000 invoices.
Founder and CEO Sean Mullaney said the core idea behind Seapoint is simple: startups fail faster when founders lose sight of cash.
“As a startup founder, your biggest risk is running out of cash and time before you can prove your milestones and raise further capital,” Mullaney said. “We believe founders who have clarity and control over their finances have a fundamentally higher chance of succeeding.”
The company is built by a team of 20 engineers and operators from Stripe, Tide and other fintech firms. Upcoming features include cash flow forecasting, physical cards, foreign exchange, US dollar accounts, AI workflows and integrations designed to feed financial data into investor updates, planning tools and daily operations.
For early-stage founders, Seapoint’s pitch is not just automation. It is control. In a funding environment where every month of runway matters, the company is betting that better financial clarity from day one can become a survival tool, not just an accounting convenience.
