The direct-to-consumer (D2C) beauty industry of India now has a rising star to watch. The digital-first beauty and skin-care brand Sotrue has reached a turnover of more than ₹100 crore annually.
Built around a “glow-first” philosophy, Sotrue has positioned itself in a crowded beauty market by focusing on simplified, result-driven products for everyday consumers. Its strobe cream has emerged as one of the products that helped the brand gain early traction and visibility.
Nearly 90% of Sotrue’s revenue comes from online channels, reflecting how digital commerce continues to drive scale for new-age beauty brands in India. At the same time, the company has maintained a selective offline presence, signalling a measured omnichannel approach rather than aggressive retail expansion.
“Reaching ₹100 crore ARR so quickly reflects our focus on building for real women with real needs,” said Gautam Khosla, Founder of Sotrue.
A key part of Sotrue’s growth story has been its lean marketing model. Instead of depending heavily on large advertising spends, the brand has relied on influencer collaborations, user-generated content, and community-led visibility. This has helped it build consumer recall while keeping growth more disciplined.
The brand has also used consumer feedback closely in product development. Inputs from Tier II and Tier III markets have influenced areas such as formulations, shade ranges, and future product planning. This consumer-first approach has become increasingly important in India’s D2C space, where brands that respond quickly to real demand often build stronger loyalty.
Sotrue is now targeting ₹200 crore in revenue in the next fiscal year. The company also plans to expand its portfolio across face, eyes, lips, and body products, strengthening its presence in India’s premium D2C beauty segment.
The ₹100 crore ARR milestone places Sotrue among the notable emerging brands in India’s D2C beauty ecosystem. Its growth reflects a broader shift in the market, where focused positioning, sharp product-market fit, digital-first distribution, and community-led brand building are becoming central to scale.
For India’s beauty and skincare sector, Sotrue’s rise is not just another startup growth story. It shows how a brand with clear product thinking and disciplined execution can move quickly in a competitive D2C market.
