7.6-inch display and A20 Pro chip
The iPhone Duo comes with a 7.6-inch inner display and a titanium frame. Powering the device is Apple’s A20 Pro chip, while photography is handled by a dual-camera setup featuring two 48MP cameras.
Apple has also introduced foldable-specific software features. These include side-aligned controls, Split View multitasking and StandBy mode, giving the device functions designed specifically around its foldable screen.
The company has replaced Face ID with Touch ID on the iPhone Duo. The device also supports Apple Pencil input and is eSIM-only.
Caviar’s Liquid Metal edition crosses ₹20 lakh
The iPhone Duo is also getting an ultra-limited luxury treatment from Caviar. Its Liquid Metal edition uses a sterling silver exterior while keeping the core hardware unchanged.
Only 17 units of the Liquid Metal edition will be produced worldwide, making the limited production run one of the most distinctive elements surrounding Apple’s foldable launch.
Prices start at ₹18,07,842 for the 256GB version and rise to ₹20,47,736 for the 2TB model.
| Storage | Liquid Metal Edition Price |
|---|---|

| 512GB | ₹18,42,387 |

The luxury version does not change the underlying hardware of the iPhone Duo. Its main distinction is the sterling silver exterior.
Apple targets the premium foldable market
The iPhone Duo’s pricing places it firmly in the premium segment of the foldable market. For consumers who do not specifically want a foldable display, the substantial price difference from the iPhone 18 Pro could become an important consideration.
Apple’s strategy is instead focused on buyers who want the foldable form factor while remaining within the company’s iOS ecosystem.
Market research cited in the provided information estimates that Apple could ship nearly 6 million iPhone Duo units in 2026. Initial estimates put Apple’s potential foldable market share at around 25%, with the figure potentially reaching 40% later.
Samsung is expected to remain ahead, while Huawei is positioned behind Apple under these estimates.
iPhone Duo could push foldable adoption
The entry of Apple into foldables is also expected to influence the wider smartphone market. Global foldable shipments are projected in the provided estimates to cross 100 million cumulative units by the end of 2026 and grow further afterward.
Apple’s arrival therefore adds another major player to a segment that has so far been shaped by other smartphone makers.
The iPhone Duo was introduced by Apple’s new CEO John Ternus at the company’s showcase event. With its high starting price, foldable-specific software, titanium construction and storage options reaching 2TB, the device marks a significant expansion of Apple’s premium iPhone strategy.
Pre-orders begin October 16, followed by sales from October 23.
