Axten Hospitals, a surgical care startup focused on specialized procedures, has secured Rs 2.5 crore in its first structured funding round. The investment was led by PedalStart, with additional participation from angel investors.
The fresh capital is expected to support the company’s next phase of growth as it looks to expand its hospital footprint and strengthen its technology-led patient services.
Expansion Plan Targets New Facilities in the Coming Year
According to the company, the newly raised funds will be used to launch three additional hospital facilities over the next 12 months. The expansion will follow an asset-light model, allowing Axten Hospitals to scale through partnerships rather than large upfront infrastructure investments.
This approach will focus on areas such as branding, legal structuring, operational setup, and working capital support. By using a partnership-driven strategy, the startup aims to enter new markets more efficiently while keeping capital costs under control.
The planned rollout reflects growing demand for organized surgical care services that offer predictable pricing and streamlined patient experiences.
Building a Digital Platform for End-to-End Patient Care
Alongside physical expansion, Axten Hospitals is preparing to launch a technology platform designed to improve the patient journey before and after surgery.
The proposed platform will support patient discovery, appointment booking, and post-operative care management. These services are expected to simplify access to treatment while helping patients stay connected with healthcare providers throughout the recovery process.
Digital healthcare tools have become increasingly important in improving convenience, reducing delays, and enhancing continuity of care. By combining hospital operations with a technology layer, Axten is positioning itself as a more integrated surgical care provider.

Founded to Standardize Surgical Treatment Delivery
Axten Hospitals was founded by Gauttam Chhabra with a focus on specialized surgical facilities that emphasize standardized treatment delivery, operational efficiency, and transparent pricing.
The company’s operating model is built around creating systems that reduce inconsistencies often seen in fragmented healthcare services. By standardizing processes, the startup aims to improve treatment timelines, patient communication, and overall clinical coordination.
Its focus on efficiency also supports faster decision-making and better utilization of hospital resources, which can be critical in high-demand surgical categories.
Strong First-Year Performance in New Delhi Pilot
The startup launched its pilot facility in East of Kailash during FY25. In its first year of operations, the company reported around Rs 9 crore in revenue while remaining EBITDA positive.
Achieving profitability at the EBITDA level during the early stage of operations is a notable milestone for a healthcare startup, especially in a capital-intensive segment such as surgical services.
The early revenue performance may also provide confidence as the company prepares to replicate its model across additional locations.
Focused on High-Volume Surgical Procedures
Axten Hospitals currently focuses on high-volume procedures across several medical specialties. These include general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, ENT, and oncology.
By concentrating on procedures with consistent demand, the company can streamline operations, improve scheduling efficiency, and create standardized care pathways. This specialization may also help deliver more predictable patient outcomes and optimized pricing structures.
The multi-specialty approach allows the startup to address a broad range of surgical needs while maintaining a focused operational model.
Transparent Pricing at the Center of Its Model
One of the company’s key offerings is its fixed-price surgical package system, marketed under the “Honest Surgery Price” approach.
The model is designed to reduce surprise billing, a common concern for patients undergoing medical procedures. With fixed package pricing, patients can better understand expected treatment costs in advance, improving financial clarity and decision-making.
Pricing transparency has become an important differentiator in private healthcare, where cost uncertainty can often create stress for patients and families.
Long-Term Growth Ambitions Across Metro Cities
Looking ahead, Axten Hospitals plans to build a network of more than 25 facilities across India’s top five metro cities over the next five years.
The company has also set a long-term revenue target of Rs 250 crore during the same period. If achieved, the milestone would mark a significant scale-up from its pilot-stage operations.
With fresh funding, a technology roadmap, and a partnership-led expansion strategy, Axten Hospitals is now entering a new stage of growth in India’s evolving surgical care market.
