Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the scoresheet for Al Nassr after his suspension by the Portuguese Football Federation, heading home in a 3-1 win over Al Faisaly in the Saudi Pro League on Friday. The 41-year-old is now just 18 goals away from reaching 1,000 career goals.

The goal marked Ronaldo’s first since the suspension was announced earlier this week. He found the net four minutes into the second half, giving Al Nassr a 2-0 lead after meeting João Félix’s free-kick delivery with a powerful header.

Ronaldo Ends Goal Drought After Suspension

Ronaldo’s return to scoring came days after he was handed a 30-day suspension and a €255 fine following an incident involving the Portuguese national team earlier this month.

The disciplinary action followed his walkout amid a reported disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus. Despite the off-field controversy, Ronaldo was back among the goals for Al Nassr, contributing to a victory that kept the club in the Saudi Pro League title race.

His latest strike was also his sixth league goal of the season, bringing the career milestone of 1,000 goals closer.

João Félix Helps Al Nassr Secure Victory

Ronaldo’s goal came from a set-piece situation, with João Félix delivering the ball into the area. Ronaldo rose above the defence to direct his header into the net and extend Al Nassr’s advantage to 2-0.

Al Nassr eventually secured a 3-1 victory over Al Faisaly, adding another three points to their league campaign.

The win was Al Nassr’s eighth in the league this season and helped the club maintain its pursuit of Al Qadsiah and Al Hilal in the title race.

18 Goals Separate Ronaldo From the 1,000-Goal Mark

At 41, Ronaldo remains focused on one of the most significant milestones of his career. With 18 goals still required to reach 1,000, every appearance and goal adds to the anticipation surrounding the achievement.

His latest strike also demonstrated his continued contribution to Al Nassr’s campaign, with the Portuguese forward finding the net despite the recent disciplinary controversy surrounding his international career.

For Al Nassr, the result provides an important boost in the title race. For Ronaldo, it brings the 1,000-goal target another step closer, with his sixth league goal of the season keeping the milestone firmly in sight.
