Tribe Stays, a hospitality brand focused on premium long-stay accommodation, has raised $2.8 million (₹24 crore) in a significant seed funding round. The investment was co-led by Artha Venture Fund and Riverwalk Holdings, with additional participation from Kunal Khanna, Krishna Jain, and several other high-net-worth individuals and family offices. This marks a major milestone for the company as it moves into an active expansion phase across India’s fast-growing long-stay segment.

A Multi-Brand Approach Designed for Modern Residents

The company operates through three distinct sub-brands, each built around the evolving needs of different types of long-term residents:

  • Tribe Student Accommodation – created for students who want safe, well-managed, and comfortable living spaces.
  • Tribe Commune – aimed at young professionals who prefer modern co-living environments that combine privacy with community.
  • Tribe Suites – extended-stay residences for corporate travellers and executive guests who need consistency and convenience during longer assignments.

With the newly raised capital, Tribe Stays plans to strengthen and expand all three of these verticals, ensuring each category grows in a structured and service-focused manner.

A Scalable Journey Starting From Pune

Tribe Stays currently operates 650 beds in Pune, one of India’s most active cities for students and working professionals. The company now plans to add 1,000 more beds within this financial year, a move that will significantly expand its presence and help it meet rising demand within the city.

However, Pune is just one part of a much larger picture. Tribe Stays aims to scale its footprint to 25,000 beds across several Tier I and Tier II cities. These include Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Gurugram, along with continued expansion in Pune. Each city offers a strong mix of universities, corporates, and young working populations, making them ideal markets for structured, well-managed long-stay accommodation.

A Living Concept Designed for Today’s Expectations

Founded by Yogesh Mehra, Tribe Stays is built on the idea that long-term living should feel comfortable, reliable, and emotionally supportive, not transactional or inconsistent. Instead of the traditional hostel or PG model, the company focuses on a hospitality-driven experience where residents feel like they are part of a thoughtfully managed environment.

Cleanliness, design, consistency, and safety play a central role in how Tribe sets up and operates its properties. The brand’s approach resonates strongly with students moving to new cities, young professionals seeking independence, and corporate guests who want the feel of a home with the services of a hotel.

Strengthening Institutional Partnerships for the Future

Tribe‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ has as one of its main strategic focuses the deepening of collaborations with universities and companies. A great number of institutions are in need of dependable lodging for their students, employees who have been relocated, or attendants for a longer period of time, however they frequently do not have the necessary facilities or management systems to offer this in a stable way. The goal of Tribe is to close that gap by delivering reliable and professionally managed housing units which can be matched with the needs of the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌institution.

Through such partnerships, the company wants to create a network of accommodations that support mobility, relocation, and long-term stays across several sectors.

A Market That Is Ready for Organized Long-Stay Living

Requirement‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ for neat and organized long-stay accommodation has been increasing consistently throughout India. Students are regular travelers to cities with good educational ecosystems. Young professionals are on the move most of the time for career-related opportunities. Corporates are the ones who send their employees to different places for trainings, projects, and long-term ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌roles.

In all of these cases, the need for safe, comfortable, and professionally managed spaces is clear. Tribe Stays’ multi-brand approach allows it to address these different audiences using one unified operational model, making it easier to standardize the experience across cities and property types.

Looking Ahead With Purpose and Momentum

Tribe‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Stays, after effectively closing its seed round of $2.8 million, is ready for a phase of steady growth. The organization intends to extend its reach, raise the number of beds and enhance its value proposition in the deluxe managed-living segment. While progressing to its target of 25,000 beds, Tribe wants to define a new benchmark that would unite the elements of hospitality, ease, and community under one roof for the long-term stay in ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌India.
