Supertails has hit a milestone year on the topline, crossing ₹100 crore in operating revenue in FY25. The Bengaluru-based petcare startup posted ₹108.3 crore in revenue from operations, up 68% from ₹64.6 crore in FY24, according to its financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

But the growth came with a familiar trade-off for consumer internet brands still in expansion mode: losses widened. Supertails’ net loss increased to ₹52.5 crore in FY25 from ₹41 crore in FY24, a 28% jump.

What’s Driving the Revenue For Supertails

Founded in 2021 by Varun Sadana, Aman Tekriwal and Vineet Khanna, Supertails positions itself as a full-stack digital petcare and pet-parenting platform.

The core engine remains commerce. The platform sells more than 30,000 pet care products, food, treats, accessories, grooming products and other essentials. Nearly 95% of operating revenue came from product sales, contributing ₹102.5 crore out of the ₹108.3 crore total.

Services, at least financially, are still a small slice of the pie. Veterinary services (consultations, vaccinations, grooming and preventive care) contributed ₹2.65 crore during the year. The company also earned operating revenue via franchise fees and ad monetisation, as per the same filing.

Including non-operating income, around ₹5 crore from sources such as investment gains and interest, Supertails’ total income stood at ₹113.3 crore in FY25.

Why losses widened despite faster growth

Expenses climbed sharply as the company continued to scale.

  • Total expenses rose 53% to ₹165.8 crore in FY25 from ₹108.4 crore in FY24.
  • Cost of materials (the biggest line item, about half of overall expenses) increased 45% to ₹83.3 crore.
  • Employee benefit expenses rose 34% to ₹25.3 crore.
  • Marketing and advertising spend was ₹22.9 crore, up 37% year-on-year.
  • Other overheads (including shipping, legal and professional fees, payments, and software charges) added ₹34.3 crore.

One telling efficiency indicator in the filing: Supertails spent ₹1.53 to earn every rupee of revenue in FY25, described as a marginal improvement over FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin were -19.09% and -8.9%, respectively.

The company reported total current assets of ₹100 crore as of March 2025.

Funding snapshot

Supertails has raised around $51 million in funding, including a $30 million round, with participation from investors such as Nippon India, Titan Capital, Fireside Ventures and RPSG Capital, among others.

FY25 puts Supertails in a clear “scaled revenue, still paying for growth” bracket: the business crossed ₹100 crore in operating revenue led overwhelmingly by product sales, while losses widened as input costs, headcount, and marketing stayed elevated.

The numbers show momentum on demand, but also underline how expensive it still is to win and serve customers at this stage of the build-out.
