Nvidia is in talks to invest in Perplexity through a new equity funding round that could value the artificial intelligence startup at more than US$30 billion, according to a report by The Information.
The discussions would mark another sharp step-up in Perplexity’s valuation. The Information reported in September 2025 that the company had finalised a valuation of US$20 billion. A new round above US$30 billion would therefore represent an increase of more than 50 per cent from its previous financing.
The potential investment comes as Perplexity records a steep rise in revenue.
Its annualised revenue has climbed to more than US$750 million, compared with less than US$250 million at the beginning of 2026, The Information reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
That means the company’s annualised revenue has grown to more than three times its level at the start of the year.
Part of that increase has been driven by Perplexity Computer, a cloud-based AI agent designed to help professionals automate computer-based tasks, according to the report.
The combination of rapid revenue growth and a potentially higher valuation puts Perplexity’s recent expansion at the centre of the reported funding discussions. However, the talks remain just that at this stage, with no completed investment or final transaction terms disclosed in the information available.
Perplexity declined to comment on The Information report, while Nvidia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Perplexity has also been expanding its cloud infrastructure arrangements during 2026. Earlier this year, the company signed a US$750 million agreement with Microsoft to use its Azure cloud service, according to a Bloomberg News report.
The reported Nvidia discussions would add another major financial development for Perplexity following its US$20 billion valuation in 2025 and the Azure agreement earlier this year.
For now, the central question is whether the investment talks progress into a completed funding round. If they do so at a valuation above US$30 billion, Perplexity would have increased its reported valuation by more than half from its previous financing while its annualised revenue moved from below US$250 million to above US$750 million within 2026.
