Bengaluru-based furniture startup Furnishka is raising Rs 26.8 crore in an extended pre-Series A round, bringing together venture investors, angel backers and startup founders. The financing is being carried out through the allotment of 3,183 preference shares priced at Rs 84,157 each, a detail that offers a closer look at how the latest capital infusion has been structured.
Investor list includes institutional investors as well as individuals. The biggest investor on the list is Bhaarath Sang, who has committed Rs 10.3 crore. The other investors who are contributing their share of Rs 3.35 crore include Beenext Asia, whereas Onyx InVen and Amit Jain are contributing Rs 2.37 crore each.
The round also brings several familiar startup names onto Furnishka’s cap table. PhysicsWallah founders Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari are investing Rs 1.14 crore each, while Udaan co-founder Sujeet Kumar is participating with around Rs 1 crore. Shantanu Jain is committing approximately Rs 94.3 lakh, and Manish Dugar about Rs 15.1 lakh.
Funding appears to be part of a wider capital exercise
The Rs 26.8 crore transaction is not necessarily the final word on Furnishka’s current fundraising activity. A substantial portion of the committed money has already been credited to the company’s accounts, while the remaining capital is expected to come in shortly.
With the latest round, Furnishka’s cumulative funding has reached around Rs 70 crore. That includes the Rs 27 crore pre-Series A round the company secured in October 2024, which was led by IndiaQuotient and also included Sparrow Capital and angel investors such as Sujeet Kumar and Ramakant Sharma.
The involvement of Sujeet Kumar repeatedly is of interest. He participated in the previous fundraising effort, and he is also putting money into the present extension, making this newest financing effort have continuity as well as fresh faces.
Furnishka’s omnichannel furniture play
Established in 2023 by Ganesh Pawar, Furnishka has evolved into an omnichannel furniture store where e-commerce and big brick-and-mortar stores are combined together. The product range includes furniture for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms. In terms of priorities, Furnishka focuses on customization, efficiency, and logistics.
That operating model puts the company in a segment where physical retail still matters alongside digital discovery and purchasing. Furnishka’s approach is therefore built around serving customers across both channels rather than relying on a purely online furniture model.
The latest capital raise adds another layer to that strategy. Beyond the headline Rs 26.8 crore figure, the composition of the round stands out: a sizeable institutional contribution from Bhaarath Sang, participation from Beenext Asia and Onyx InVen, and personal capital from founders and operators including Alakh Pandey, Prateek Maheshwari and Sujeet Kumar.
For Furnishka, the financing extends a fundraising journey that has taken its reported cumulative capital to roughly Rs 70 crore in around three years since the company’s founding.
