After years of quietly building its product through bootstrapped growth, Indian restaurant-tech startup Digitory has raised $500,000 in a Pre-Series A funding round from angel investor Tejas Paresh Lodaya, marking a major milestone for the company as it prepares to expand its reach and operational capabilities.
Digitory, founded by Shivaprakash S. Mogali, has built a reputation in hospitality circles for helping restaurant brands tackle one of the industry’s toughest challenges: running complex, multi-location operations efficiently while maintaining profitability.
The fresh capital will now help the startup accelerate distribution, strengthen enterprise onboarding, and scale its operational infrastructure nationwide.
Digitory: Built in real restaurants, not just labs
Unlike many tech products that are developed in isolation, Digitory’s platform was built and refined in live restaurant environments. The company’s early growth came not from aggressive fundraising, but from solving real operational pain points inside kitchens and restaurant networks.
Today, several well-known restaurant and brewery chains already rely on Digitory’s platform, including Toit, Bier Library, Biergarten, Pumphouse, BirBrewing, 1522, BygBrewski, Zero40 and Effingut Breweries, among others. These brands use Digitory’s systems to manage multi-location operations, inventory, workflows and performance across outlets.
At its core, the startup is positioning itself as the operating system for restaurant profitability, helping hospitality businesses maintain consistency and efficiency even as they scale.
Investor confidence in a tested platform
Explaining the investment decision, angel investor Tejas Paresh Lodaya highlighted the rarity of startups reaching this level of maturity without heavy early funding.
“Digitory is solving a real problem in the hospitality sector, optimising complex restaurant operations at scale using tech. The product has been at the forefront in handling complex, volume-filled situations while being bootstrapped, which is quite rare to find at this stage,” Lodaya said.
He added that the company’s disciplined approach to product building made it an attractive investment.
“Digitory has been a firm which deserved the investment given their mindful approach in building a quality, tested platform first, and moving to scale up second.”
Funding to power the next phase
Founder and CEO Shivaprakash S. Mogali says the company now plans to shift from steady organic growth to structured expansion.
“We are elated for having raised the $500k funding in Series A funding round. While our product has already been operating across restaurants for years, the funding round will aid boost distribution and scale up our operations at an enterprise level,” he said.
The company plans to use the capital infusion to:
- Expand market reach across new restaurant networks
- Strengthen enterprise onboarding capabilities
- Increase R&D investments in automation and operational intelligence
- Upgrade infrastructure to support scale
Full-stack operations for modern restaurants
Digitory’s platform has evolved into a full-stack restaurant operations system, covering critical areas such as:
- Inventory intelligence
- Recipe and kitchen management
- Kitchen display systems
- QR-based ordering
- Workflow automation
- Performance analytics and operational metrics
Through its restaurant network integrations, the platform has already supported over 1.8 million end customers, even before securing institutional capital.
A quiet but significant shift in restaurant tech
India’s hospitality sector has increasingly embraced technology over the past decade, but many solutions still address only fragments of operations. Digitory’s approach focuses on stitching together multiple operational layers into a unified system, helping restaurants maintain margins while scaling.
With fresh funding in place, the coming year will reveal whether Digitory can convert its operational credibility into nationwide scale, a move that could make it one of the key infrastructure players in India’s restaurant-tech ecosystem.
