Childhood behavior health tech firm Butterfly Learnings founded by Dr. Sonam Kothari (Founder and CEO) and Dr. Abhishek Sen (Co-founder)has bagged Rs 65 crore in a Pre-Series B investment round headed by Inflexor Ventures, gaining new funds to expand its healthcare network and autism screening efforts further.
Enzia Ventures, Insitor Impact Asia Fund and IIMA Ventures also participated in the round.
The funding comes with a clearly defined expansion plan. Butterfly Learnings intends to take its centre network beyond Maharashtra, strengthen its AI capabilities and increase the deployment of Get SET Early, its autism screening solution, through hospitals and paediatricians.
The company also plans to expand its therapist training efforts as it grows its presence across the country.
A 90-centre network spread across 22 cities
Butterfly Learnings already operates 90 centres across 22 cities in India, giving the company an existing physical network on which to build its next phase of expansion.
Its model brings together several aspects of behavioural healthcare, including clinical therapy, inclusive schooling, diagnostics and digital therapeutics. Alongside its centres, the company runs therapist training based on behavioural healthcare standards.
The fresh capital is expected to support expansion beyond its current geographical footprint while adding capacity around technology, screening and therapist development.
Rather than concentrating only on adding centres, Butterfly Learnings is also looking to increase the reach of its screening capabilities through healthcare providers.
Get SET Early forms part of the expansion push
A significant part of the company’s plans centres on Get SET Early, for which Butterfly Learnings holds an exclusive global licence.
The solution uses eye-tracking for autism screening and has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, or CDSCO. It can be used to screen children from one year of age.
Butterfly Learnings now plans to increase its deployment through hospitals and paediatricians, bringing the screening solution into healthcare settings alongside the expansion of its own centre network.
The company also intends to build partnerships with hospitals as it broadens its presence across India.
That combination gives the latest funding round two distinct areas of focus: expanding the company’s physical care infrastructure while widening access to early screening through external healthcare channels.
Funding to support the next stage of expansion
With its network already spanning 22 cities, Butterfly Learnings is entering the next stage with an established operating footprint. The Rs 65 crore round will support its move beyond Maharashtra while strengthening the capabilities that sit around its centres, including AI, therapist training and autism screening.
For Butterfly Learnings, the next phase is therefore not limited to opening more locations. The company is also looking to extend how its behavioural healthcare services and screening tools reach children through hospitals, paediatricians and a broader national network.
