Apple’s next major hardware showcase could take place on September 9, 2026, with the iPhone 18 family expected to lead a broader product lineup that may include the company’s first foldable iPhone, new Apple Watch models and updates to its home-device portfolio. For now, however, neither the event date nor the products linked to it have been officially confirmed by Apple.

The expected September event is shaping up to be more than a routine iPhone refresh. Reports point to the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, while a foldable model, reportedly referred to as the iPhone Ultra, could give Apple an additional device to introduce alongside its flagship phones.

September 9 emerges as the possible launch date

Wednesday, September 9 is being discussed as the likely date for Apple’s event, although the company has not formally announced it. An event announcement is reportedly expected on August 26.

The proposed timing would put the launch shortly after the US Labor Day holiday and during the closing stretch of IFA in Berlin, which is scheduled to run from September 5 to September 9.

There is also an unusually specific clue linked to Apple’s retail operations. The company has reportedly opened a lottery for US retail employees interested in assisting at Apple Park during the event. Applications were said to have closed on August 8, with selected employees expected to receive notifications on August 17.

That detail does not confirm the September event, but it adds another date to watch before any formal invitation arrives.

iPhone 18 lineup could be joined by Apple’s first foldable

Three conventional models are currently expected in the September lineup: the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The bigger change could come from a fourth device. Apple may unveil its first foldable iPhone, which has been referred to in reports as the iPhone Ultra. The foldable could be announced alongside the Pro models but may not reach buyers at the same time.

That distinction is important. An unveiling in September would not necessarily mean immediate commercial availability for the foldable model.

iPhone 18 Pro prices tipped to start above $1,000

Early pricing estimates cited in the reports place the iPhone 18 Pro between $1,099 and $1,299 in the United States. The iPhone 18 Pro Max has been tipped to fall between $1,299 and $1,499.

These figures remain speculative rather than official pricing.

If the September 9 event goes ahead, the proposed sales timetable could move quickly. Pre-orders are expected to open on September 11, followed by possible retail availability from September 18.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 could share the stage

The September event may extend well beyond the iPhone.

Apple is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. A refreshed Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 are among the other products being linked to the event.

A list circulating ahead of the expected launch similarly names the iPhone Ultra, the three iPhone 18 models, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, a new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 among products that could be announced.

Apple’s smart-home plans may follow later

Another product under development is a smart home hub, although reports suggest it may not arrive with the September hardware.

Its possible release window currently stretches from October 2026 to early 2027. A lower-cost, screenless fitness tracker has also been mentioned as a possible future product.

The wider picture, then, is of a launch cycle that could extend beyond a single September presentation. Some devices may appear at the event, while others could arrive later.

What is actually confirmed?

At this stage, very little about the proposed September programme should be treated as final.

The September 9 event date remains unconfirmed. The iPhone Ultra name and foldable launch timing have not been officially announced. The reported prices and sales dates are also provisional, while Apple’s other potential hardware announcements remain subject to change.

Until Apple issues its own announcement, all launch dates, products and prices remain unconfirmed.

What makes the next few weeks especially crucial is that the dates that precede the rumoured occurrence seem to be following a particular pattern: retail applications were supposed to have shut on August 8; employees notified by August 17; announcement of the event to be released by August 26, and the showcase on September 9.

For buyers waiting on the iPhone 18 generation, Apple’s next official communication will be the point at which speculation begins turning into a concrete launch schedule.
