Television journalist Arpita Arya has returned to Network18, joining News18 India as an anchor and marking her second innings with the Hindi news channel.

Her comeback has been confirmed after News18 India released a social media promo introducing her in a new role. The promo presents Arya as returning in a “new avatar” on the channel, adding another familiar face to News18 India’s prime broadcast lineup.

Arya is expected to host the 5 pm show, though the exact programming details have not been officially confirmed yet. Her return had earlier been reported in media circles, and the latest confirmation now places her back within the Network18 newsroom.

Arpita Arya: A familiar face returns to News18 India

For regular Hindi news viewers, Arpita Arya is not a new name on News18 India. During her earlier stint with the channel, she was associated with the network for nearly six years and anchored several shows, including Mudda Garam Hai, Khabar Pakki Hai, Sau Baat Ki Ek Baat and Hum To Poochhenge.

Her return is significant because it brings back an anchor strongly identified with the channel’s debate and news programming style. Arya has built her television identity around a direct, assertive and outspoken on-screen presence, which made her one of the recognisable anchors in Hindi news broadcasting.

From News18 India to Aaj Tak, and back

After her first stint at News18 India, Arya moved to the India Today Group in August 2021 and joined its Hindi news channel Aaj Tak. She resigned from Aaj Tak some time ago and has now come back to the Network18 fold.

The move places her among the notable recent people movements in Hindi television news, where anchor shifts continue to draw attention because of their impact on channel positioning, audience recall and daily programming formats.

Originally from Delhi, Arpita Arya has more than a decade of experience in the media industry. She began her journalism career with KTV in Kanpur and later worked with APN and News Express before becoming a known television face.

Over the years, Arya has remained active on social media and has developed a following around her anchoring style, which is often described as sharp and fearless. Her return to News18 India now opens a fresh phase in her career, especially as the channel prepares to place her back before a national Hindi news audience.

For News18 India, the development brings back an anchor already familiar with the network’s format and audience. For Arya, it is a return to a platform where she spent a major part of her television career and hosted some of her most visible shows.
