Umesh Bopche has resigned from his post as CEO of Experience Commerce, which is the digital and experience marketing division of Cheil SWA Group, adding yet another high-level resignation to the agency group.
The move comes only months after Jitender Dabas exited Cheil X in February 2026, putting fresh attention on leadership changes within Cheil SWA’s business units. Experience Commerce declined to comment on the development.
Bopche’s exit is significant because Experience Commerce has been one of Cheil India’s key digital and integrated marketing pillars. With brands increasingly demanding performance-led, data-driven and experience-focused solutions, leadership continuity in such units becomes central to agency growth.
Bopche brought more than two decades of experience across media, digital, content, technology and internet businesses. Before joining Experience Commerce, he held leadership roles at Prime Focus Group, Times of India Group and Times Internet.
Over his career, he worked with brands across sectors, including Amazon, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank, Dabur, Tata Motors, OPPO, Xiaomi, ITC, Procter & Gamble, L’Oréal, Myntra, Marico and Big Bazaar.
The exit also comes during a broader leadership transition at Cheil SWA. In January 2026, Cheil Worldwide appointed Sungkyoon Kim as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cheil South West Asia, a key regional change for the Samsung-backed advertising and marketing network.
In the meantime, everyone will be watching Cheil SWA’s succession plans for Experience Commerce. As competition in the marketplace for digital agencies gets fiercer in terms of delivering strategic, faster and more impactful results, any move the company makes in regard to its leadership could make all the difference.
