Used car marketplace CARS24 has acquired automotive utility application Vehicle Info as part of its strategy to build a comprehensive platform covering the entire vehicle ownership lifecycle. The move reflects the Gurugram-based company’s broader push to expand its services beyond vehicle transactions and offer a wider range of tools for car owners.
The acquisition strengthens CARS24’s ability to provide digital solutions related to vehicle management and documentation. By integrating Vehicle Info’s features, the company aims to support users not only in buying and selling vehicles but also in managing essential ownership-related services through a single platform.
Third Strategic Acquisition Within a Year
This deal marks CARS24’s third acquisition in the past year. Earlier, the company acquired vehicle information and management platform CarInfo, followed by the takeover of the automotive community platform Team-BHP.
The series of acquisitions indicates the company’s effort to build a broader automotive ecosystem that combines vehicle commerce, community engagement, and digital utilities for vehicle owners.
Through these integrations, CARS24 appears to be working toward creating a unified digital environment where users can access vehicle-related information, services, and transactions without needing multiple platforms.
What Vehicle Info Brings to the Platform
Vehicle Info was founded in 2017 by Chirag Pipaliya and has developed a platform that provides several vehicle-related services for both consumers and businesses.
The application offers tools such as access to Regional Transport Office (RTO) vehicle information, traffic challan payments, insurance details, service history records, and resale value checks. It also provides preparation tools for driving license exams.
These features allow vehicle owners to quickly retrieve essential vehicle data and manage administrative tasks digitally. The platform has served both individual users and businesses that require vehicle-related information and verification services.
By adding these capabilities to its ecosystem, CARS24 is expected to expand its offerings beyond vehicle marketplace functions to include practical ownership utilities.

Vehicle Info to Continue Operating Independently
Despite the acquisition, Vehicle Info will continue to function as a standalone application. Its existing team will remain in place and will work alongside CARS24 to further develop the platform’s capabilities.
Maintaining operational independence allows Vehicle Info to continue serving its current user base while gradually integrating its features with CARS24’s broader platform.
This approach may also help preserve the app’s existing workflows and user experience while benefiting from the resources and technological support of its new parent company.
CARS24’s Expanding Digital Mobility Services
CARS24 was founded in 2015 by Vikram Chopra and has grown into one of India’s prominent digital platforms for vehicle transactions. The company offers services such as buying and selling vehicles online, financing options, insurance support, and vehicle servicing.
It also provides lending solutions through its financial arm, CARS24 Financial Services, which focuses on vehicle loans and related financial products.
Over the years, the company has expanded its services to simplify various aspects of vehicle ownership, from discovery and purchase to financing and maintenance.
The acquisition of Vehicle Info reflects a broader effort to extend its digital ecosystem to include vehicle data services and ownership management tools.
Financial Performance in Recent Years
CARS24 reported a 25 percent year-on-year growth during the financial year 2024, indicating strong expansion in its operations at the time.
However, the company experienced a decline in operating scale during the financial year that ended in March 2025. During this period, its operating scale in India dropped by 10 percent.
Financial figures from FY25 also showed a rise in losses. Net losses increased by 9 percent, reaching Rs 543 crore. At the same time, gross revenue declined to Rs 6,233 crore, compared with Rs 6,910 crore in the previous financial year.
Despite these financial challenges, the company continues to invest in expanding its platform and services. The acquisition of Vehicle Info signals a continued focus on strengthening its position in the digital automotive ecosystem and offering a broader range of services to vehicle owners.
