Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty is set to make his debut as a host and mentor in a new entrepreneurial reality series, “Bharat Ke Super Founders,” which is scheduled to launch on Amazon MX Player on January 16. The makers are positioning it as a high-stakes pitch format backed by a Rs 100 crore investment pool, described as the largest funding commitment ever showcased on an Indian entertainment platform.
The trailer, released on January 11, sets the tone for what appears to be an intense pitch-room environment, entrepreneurs from across India stepping in to make their case, with funding decisions hanging on the strength of their business ideas and execution plans. The series is being co-produced by Rusk Media and Recur Club, with StockGro and Legacy Collective named as co-sponsors.
Bharat Ke Super Founders: A pitch room with a heavyweight business panel
At the centre of the show is an investment panel that brings together a mix of founders and investors:
- Dr A. VeluMani, creator of Thyrocare
- Nitish Mittersain, founder and CEO of Nazara Technologies
- Dr Aarti Gupta, Anikarth Ventures
- Shanti Mohan, founder of LetsVenture Trica
- Aditya Singh, co-founder of All In Capital
- Ankur Mittal, partner at Physis Capital and co-founder of Inflection Point Ventures
Also joining the panel is Eklavya Gupta of Recur Club, who, as per the show’s details, contributes AI-driven debt infrastructure to the Rs 100 crore pool.
‘Frugal and determined founders need the right platform’: VeluMani
The show’s pitch is built around access, access to mentors, capital, and visibility. That message is echoed in a quote attributed to Dr VeluMani in the material shared around the launch.
“Bharat is full of focused, frugal and determined founders who simply need the right mentorship and a real opportunity. This show finally gives them that platform to get attention and identity,” Dr VeluMani said.
Reality television has long influenced mass discourse in India, and entrepreneurship-based formats are being increasingly packaged for traditional entertainment viewing. The point that makes this particular series noteworthy in the way it has been positioned has to do with the size of the announced pool, which is Rs 100 crore, and having debt infrastructure on board.
With Shetty fronting the format as host and mentor, the show is also clearly leaning into a familiar face to bridge two worlds, entertainment and enterprise, while keeping the decision-making anchored with a business-heavy panel. “Bharat Ke Super Founders” premieres on Amazon MX Player on January 16.
