AI-powered coding platform Emergent is in advanced discussions to raise approximately $200 million in a new funding round led by investment firm Creaegis, with participation expected from Claypond Capital, the family investment office of healthcare entrepreneur Ranjan Pai, and technology giant Amazon.
The latest round is also expected to see participation from several of Emergent’s existing investors, including Khosla Ventures, Lightspeed, SoftBank, Prosus, and Together Fund. These investors are likely to invest on a pro-rata basis to maintain their ownership stakes in the company.
The fundraising process has been underway for several months. Discussions were first reported in April, when Emergent began engaging with investors for a fresh capital infusion. At that stage, Creaegis had already emerged as a key participant, while additional investors were expected to join before the round reached completion.
Rapid Rise Fuels Investor Interest
The proposed financing round is set to value the Bengaluru and San Francisco-based startup at approximately $1.5 billion on a post-money basis. The valuation marks a significant leap from the company’s $300 million valuation recorded just five months earlier.
The sharp increase reflects growing customer adoption of Emergent’s products and strong revenue growth, highlighting the rising demand for AI-driven software development tools. The company operates in the fast-growing “vibe-coding” segment, where artificial intelligence assists users in creating software applications through natural language instructions and automated coding capabilities.
Fifth Fundraise Since Launch
Founded in 2024, Emergent has moved quickly through multiple rounds of fundraising as investor enthusiasm around artificial intelligence continues to accelerate.
The company’s most recent funding round took place in January, when it secured $70 million from Khosla Ventures and SoftBank at a valuation of $300 million.
According to private markets data platform Tracxn, Emergent has raised a total of $100 million to date. Once the current round is completed, it will become the startup’s fifth funding round since its inception.
The fresh capital is expected to further strengthen the company’s ability to expand its products, scale operations, and support growing customer demand in the competitive AI software ecosystem.

Leadership Team Strengthens Ahead of Expansion
As Emergent prepares for its next phase of growth, the company has also announced key leadership and governance changes.
Manav Garg, co-founder and managing partner at Together Fund and one of Emergent’s earliest supporters, has taken on the role of Executive Chairman. The move signals a deeper operational involvement from one of the startup’s long-standing backers as it scales its business.
The board will also see a change in representation from Together Fund. Girish Mathrubootham, founder of publicly listed SaaS company Freshworks and a founding partner at Together Fund, will join Emergent’s board, replacing Garg as the fund’s representative.
In a post shared on X on June 4, Mathrubootham stated that he would join the board to ensure Together Fund remains closely engaged with the company as it continues its growth journey.
Founded by Experienced Technology Entrepreneurs
Emergent was founded in 2024 by twin brothers Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha, both of whom bring extensive experience in technology and artificial intelligence.
Chief Executive Officer Mukund Jha is a graduate of Columbia Engineering and previously worked as an engineer at Google. Before launching Emergent, he was also a co-founder of hyperlocal delivery startup Dunzo.
His brother and co-founder, Madhav Jha, previously worked as an AI scientist at Amazon and later served as a machine learning engineer at Dropbox. Drawing on their backgrounds in large-scale technology platforms and artificial intelligence, the duo launched Emergent to build AI-powered tools designed to simplify software creation.
With a potential $200 million investment round nearing completion and a valuation reaching $1.5 billion, Emergent is positioning itself among the fastest-growing AI startups to emerge from India’s technology ecosystem.
