Preventive pain care startup Betterhood has secured Rs 5 crore in a seed funding round led by Kairon Capital. The round also saw participation from individual investors Yogesh Kabra, Rishubh Satiya, Rohit Chawla, Sifat Khurana, and Shayamal Vallabhjee.

The company said the newly raised capital will be used to strengthen product development and expand its team across key functions, including product, content, and growth. A portion of the funding will also support the startup’s efforts to scale distribution through both online and offline channels as it continues to broaden its reach in the preventive pain care segment.

Startup Focused on Early Intervention for Musculoskeletal Health

Founded in October 2024 by Vikram Kadam and Neha Zade, Betterhood focuses on improving musculoskeletal health through science-backed solutions. The company combines physical products, educational content, digital tools, and expert-led interventions to help individuals manage and prevent pain.

Its offerings include posture supports, orthotic supports, and products designed for pain relief and recovery. The startup’s approach is centered on helping people address discomfort at an early stage and develop long-term habits that support better posture, mobility, and musculoskeletal health.

By focusing on preventive care rather than reactive treatment, the company aims to encourage users to recognise early signs of pain and take corrective steps before the condition worsens.

Digital Tools Designed to Identify Root Causes of Pain

The Bengaluru-based startup has also developed assessment tools on its website that help users understand the underlying causes of common musculoskeletal issues. These tools are designed to guide individuals experiencing neck, back, shoulder, or knee pain.

According to the company, the assessments provide users with insights into potential causes of their discomfort and offer a clinically grounded starting point for their care journey. The goal is to simplify the process of identifying pain triggers and enable individuals to take more informed steps toward recovery and prevention.

Posture Awareness Tool Aims to Make Prevention Engaging

As part of its efforts to make preventive care more accessible, Betterhood recently introduced a posture analysis tool called Slouch Catcher.

The feature allows users to upload a snapshot of their posture through the company’s platform. Based on the image, the tool generates a personalised posture score and assigns an animal-inspired posture persona. This approach is designed to make posture awareness more interactive while encouraging users to better understand and improve their daily posture habits.

Training Initiative for Early-Career Physiotherapists

Beyond consumer-focused tools and products, the startup is also expanding into professional training. It is preparing to launch The Physio Edge, a certification programme targeted at early-career physiotherapists.

The programme is intended to address the gap that often exists between academic training and real-world clinical practice. Through this initiative, the company aims to support physiotherapists as they transition into professional practice while strengthening the broader ecosystem around preventive musculoskeletal care.

Growing Customer Base and Educational Outreach

Since its launch, Betterhood reports that it has served more than 60,000 customers. In addition to product offerings, the company has produced over 1,000 pieces of educational content across various platforms.

This content focuses on topics such as posture improvement, pain prevention, movement practices, and recovery strategies. By combining education with practical tools and products, the startup aims to encourage a more proactive approach to physical health.

Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its presence through physiotherapy clinics, running communities, and wellness retail spaces. These partnerships are expected to help the startup strengthen its footprint in the preventive pain care sector while reaching a wider group of consumers seeking long-term musculoskeletal health solutions.
