Visa processing startup Atlys has raised $36 million in a Series C funding round led by Susquehanna Asia Venture Capital. Existing investors Elevation Capital, Long Journey Ventures, and Peak XV Partners also participated in the round. Online travel company MakeMyTrip joined the round as a new investor.
The latest funding marks a significant milestone for the travel technology startup as it continues to strengthen its position in the global visa processing market. The company plans to use the newly raised capital to expand into additional international markets while also investing in technology improvements that can simplify the visa application process for travellers worldwide.
Strengthening Technology With AI Integration
A major portion of the investment will support the company’s technology roadmap, particularly its plans to deploy artificial intelligence across various parts of the visa processing journey.
Atlys aims to integrate AI-driven systems into processes such as document verification, eligibility checks, and traveller support. By automating and streamlining these steps, the company hopes to reduce complexity and improve the overall efficiency of visa applications for users applying to different countries.

Building a Digital Platform for Global Travellers
Founded in 2021 by Mohak Nahta, Atlys offers a digital platform that allows travellers to discover visa requirements, apply for visas, and manage their applications online. The service currently supports visa processing for more than 120 destinations around the world.
The platform is designed to simplify a process that is traditionally paperwork heavy and time consuming. By digitizing the application flow and offering a centralized system for travellers, the startup aims to make cross-border travel preparation more convenient and accessible.
Rapid Expansion Across Key International Markets
Since its previous funding round, the company has significantly expanded its global footprint. Atlys now operates in several major markets including the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
These international markets have become an important part of the company’s growth strategy. According to the company, nearly half of its overall business now comes from outside its original market, highlighting increasing demand for simplified visa processing services among global travellers.
Rising Application Volumes and Business Growth
The startup has also reported strong growth in the number of visa applications processed through its platform. Since its last funding round, Atlys has handled close to 450,000 visa applications.
The company currently operates at an annual visa run rate of more than 700,000 applications. It has also recorded an elevenfold increase in growth since its Series B round in 2024, reflecting rising adoption of digital visa services among travellers.
Funding Journey and Investor Support
The Series C round builds on a steady funding trajectory for the startup. In September 2024, Atlys raised $20 million in a Series B round co-led by Peak XV Partners and Elevation Capital, with participation from DST Global and Headline.
Earlier, the company secured $12 million in a Series A round in September 2023. Its earliest external funding came in October 2021, when it raised $4.25 million in seed capital shortly after its founding.
The continued backing from existing investors along with participation from new strategic investors reflects confidence in the company’s technology driven approach to simplifying visa services.
Strategic Acquisition to Strengthen European Presence
In February 2025, Atlys further expanded its international presence by acquiring the United Kingdom unit of visa services firm Artionis. The transaction was completed as an all cash deal and was aimed at strengthening the company’s infrastructure for visa processing across Europe.
The acquisition provided the startup with additional operational capabilities and a stronger regional footprint, allowing it to support a larger number of visa applications across the continent.
Vision for a Global Digital Visa Network
With its latest funding round and ongoing international expansion, Atlys is focused on building a comprehensive digital platform for global visa services.
By combining technology, automation, and expanded geographic coverage, the company aims to create a streamlined system that allows travellers to manage visa requirements for multiple countries through a single platform. As international travel continues to recover and grow, the startup is positioning itself to play a larger role in the evolving travel technology ecosystem.
