Zoho is expanding its messaging platform Arattai into business communication with the launch of Arattai-for-Business, an app designed to help companies interact directly with their customers. The announcement also introduces a business integration platform that will allow organisations to connect their existing software and automation systems with Arattai.

Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu announced the launch in a post, confirming that the business app is now live. The move extends Arattai’s role beyond regular messaging by creating a dedicated communication channel for businesses, institutions and public service organisations.

The launch comes with a notable provision for educational and healthcare institutions, which will receive an allowance of one million messages per month at no cost.

Arattai Business Platform to Connect Existing Software

Alongside the new app, Zoho has introduced the Arattai Business Platform, which is designed to connect an organisation’s existing business software and automation systems with the messaging service.

This integration could allow businesses to bring their customer communication activities closer to the software they already use. Rather than treating Arattai only as a standalone messaging application, the platform is being positioned as part of a wider business communication setup.

However, Zoho has not shared further technical details about the integrations or specified which business software systems will be supported at launch.

Zoho Offers Free Arattai Access to Government Services

Government departments and public service organisations will also be able to use the Arattai Business Platform without charge.

Vembu specifically mentioned the Indian Railways as an example, adding that Zoho is currently working on the required integrations.

The proposed connections could give public service organisations another channel to communicate with users. However, these integrations are still under development, and the company has not announced a completion timeline.

The free provision for government and public services is one of the key parts of the announcement, particularly as Zoho looks to extend Arattai into institutional communication.

Healthcare and Educational Institutions Get One Million Free Messages

Healthcare and educational institutions will receive a free allowance of one million messages every month through the platform.

This provision gives organisations in these sectors an opportunity to use Arattai for regular communication without paying for the specified monthly message allowance.

The announcement did not clarify whether additional messages beyond the free monthly limit will be charged or what pricing structure will apply to other business customers.

Arattai Expands Into Business Communication

With Arattai-for-Business and the Arattai Business Platform, Zoho is extending its messaging offering into a segment that involves communication between organisations and their customers.

The two launches serve different but connected purposes. The business app provides a channel for customer interactions, while the platform focuses on linking Arattai with existing business software and automation systems.

For now, Zoho has confirmed that the business app is live, while integrations for government services such as the Railways are being developed. Further details about commercial pricing, supported integrations and the rollout schedule are yet to be announced.

The one-million-message monthly allowance for healthcare and educational institutions, along with free access for government and public services, gives the launch a distinct institutional focus.
