Fashion discovery platform Slayd has raised Rs 1.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by AJVC, the early-stage fund founded by Aviral Bhatnagar. The round values the startup at around Rs 16.66 crore post-money.
Slayd plans to use the fresh capital to expand its team and scale its private-label business, Slayd Originals, adding another growth avenue alongside its fashion discovery platform.
Founded in 2025 by IIT Roorkee alumni Sparsh Jain, Harsh Porwal and Kumar Prasang, Slayd is attempting to simplify fashion discovery by bringing products from different online destinations into a single discovery experience.
The platform currently covers fashion products from more than 300 marketplaces and direct-to-consumer brands. It regularly adds new products and uses its proprietary model to evaluate products using multiple signals, with the aim of identifying styles and trends gaining traction.
Slayd says user base has crossed 200,000
Alongside the fundraising, Slayd has disclosed some early usage numbers for its platform.
The startup claims to have crossed 200,000 users, with month-one retention of more than 40%. Its more active users record over 10 sessions a month, while the platform says it currently identifies more than 2,000 products as hot sellers.
Rather than functioning as another standalone fashion marketplace, Slayd organises products into theme-based collections and personalised feeds, giving shoppers a way to discover products available across multiple fashion platforms.
That discovery layer is central to the problem the founders are trying to address.
Sparsh Jain pointed to the volume of new apparel designs appearing across hundreds of e-commerce platforms every month, while shoppers still need to move between different platforms to find what is trending. Slayd’s approach is focused on creating a discovery layer across this fragmented pool of fashion products.
Slayd Originals adds private label to the model
Slayd is also taking the data generated through product discovery beyond recommendations.
The company has entered the private-label business through Slayd Originals, which is already generating around 1,000 orders a month, according to the startup.
Its product and trend data is being used to identify styles that could potentially be developed under its own label. That gives Slayd a model where discovery data can inform decisions about what the company chooses to produce.
Cofounder Harsh Porwal said the idea is to understand what shoppers are looking for before Slayd builds products itself. Bringing selected styles under its own supply chain is intended to help the company respond to demand while creating a more consistent shopping experience.
With the pre-seed round now in place, the company’s immediate priorities remain focused on building out its team and increasing the scale of Slayd Originals.
The funding therefore gives Slayd capital for both sides of its developing business: expanding the fashion discovery platform that brings together products from hundreds of brands and marketplaces, and growing a private-label operation informed by the trends and shopping signals emerging on that platform.
