Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), a joint venture between Reliance Industries’ digital arm and Meta Platforms, has appointed Parminder Singh as its Chief Executive Officer. The venture is structured with a 70 percent stake held by Reliance Intelligence Limited and 30 percent by Facebook Overseas Inc.

Following the announcement, Singh shared the update on X, reflecting on his recent journey into artificial intelligence. He noted that he had been exploring AI through his own venture before being approached to lead the new enterprise-focused initiative backed by Reliance and Meta. He described the opportunity as a significant moment to shape enterprise AI both in India and internationally, adding that the new role marks the beginning of an important phase in his professional journey.

A Veteran Leader with Global Technology Experience

In its official statement, Reliance described Singh as one of Asia’s most recognised technology leaders, highlighting a career that spans several global companies including Google, Apple, Twitter, and IBM.

Over the years, Singh has held senior leadership roles across the Asia-Pacific region, where he worked on building and transforming digital businesses at scale. Among his notable positions was his role as Chief Commercial and Digital Officer at Mediacorp, Singapore’s largest media network. During his tenure, he led a broad digital transformation initiative that included the adoption of AI-driven strategies across the organisation.

More recently, Singh co-founded ClayboxAI, a firm focused on improving AI fluency and leadership capabilities among organisations. He was also involved in building WeKamp, an AI-powered community platform that is currently in its pilot phase.

Academic Background and Early Career Journey

According to his professional profile, Singh completed his MBA in 1993 from the University Business School at Panjab University. Soon after graduating, he began his career with HCL Technologies as a regional sales manager.

His career progressed through a series of leadership roles across major global firms. He served as country sales head at Apple, worked as General Manager in marketing at IBM, and later became Managing Director at Google. These roles contributed to his extensive experience in managing large-scale operations and driving digital growth across diverse markets.

Public information about Singh’s personal life remains limited. His social media activity indicates that his parents are based in Delhi. He is married and has a son. Beyond these details, he has largely maintained a private personal profile.

Akash Ambani, who plays a key role in Reliance’s digital and technology initiatives, welcomed Singh’s appointment and highlighted its strategic importance for the company’s AI ambitions.

In a statement, Ambani emphasised that building enterprise AI capabilities in India represents a major long-term opportunity. He noted that Singh brings a combination of global technology expertise, regional market understanding, and leadership experience needed to guide the venture. He also stated that Singh’s appointment marks an important step in building a strong team that can position REIL as a leader in enterprise AI, both within India and beyond.

Speaking about his new role, Singh highlighted the growing relevance of AI in Indian businesses. He stated that enterprise AI is not a distant concept but an immediate opportunity, as companies increasingly look for solutions that combine technological innovation with practical business understanding.

He added that REIL aims to serve as a trusted AI partner for enterprises by leveraging the combined strengths of Reliance’s digital ecosystem and Meta’s technological capabilities. According to Singh, this combination creates a distinct value proposition in the market.

He expressed confidence in the venture’s potential and said he is looking forward to building solutions that address real business challenges through AI.
