Samsung is preparing to expand its flagship smartphone lineup with a new Galaxy S27 Pro, with production of its advanced OLED panels reportedly scheduled to begin in November 2026. The upcoming smartphone will bring Samsung’s built-in privacy display technology to a second flagship device, extending a feature first introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Samsung Display is reportedly preparing around 700,000 M16 OLED panels for the Galaxy S27 Pro this month, ahead of the smartphone’s expected early 2027 launch. The move signals Samsung’s intention to make its privacy screen technology available beyond its most expensive flagship model.

The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to sit between the standard and Plus models and the top-end Ultra, giving consumers another option in Samsung’s premium smartphone range.

Galaxy S27 Pro to Bring Privacy Display Beyond Ultra

One of the biggest expected additions to the Galaxy S27 Pro is Samsung’s integrated privacy display technology.

First introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the feature restricts screen visibility from side angles, making it harder for people nearby to view information displayed on the phone. Unlike conventional privacy screen protectors, the technology is built directly into the display.

Its arrival on the S27 Pro would mark an important expansion of the feature across Samsung’s flagship range. It could also give the company another way to distinguish its premium smartphones from competitors without relying entirely on camera or processor upgrades.

The reported production of approximately 700,000 M16 OLED panels in November suggests Samsung is preparing the display technology for a wider flagship rollout.

Samsung’s Four-Model Strategy and Premium Pricing

The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to join the standard Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Plus and Galaxy S27 Ultra, taking Samsung’s flagship lineup to four models.

The additional device also appears to be part of a broader effort to strengthen the company’s premium smartphone business.

Samsung’s Mobile eXperience and Networks divisions recorded a combined operating loss of 600 billion won in the third quarter of 2026. Rising memory costs have put pressure on margins, making a stronger premium product mix increasingly important.

Pricing leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 Pro could launch at around $1,399, placing it just $100 below the expected Ultra price.

This relatively small difference could encourage buyers considering the standard or Plus models to spend more on the Pro. However, it also raises questions about how Samsung will differentiate the Pro from the Ultra and prevent the new model from taking sales away from its existing flagship.

Galaxy S27 Pro: Expected Specifications and Features

Beyond its privacy display, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to offer several high-end hardware features.

Reports suggest the smartphone could feature a 6.47-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display built using Samsung’s M16 OLED materials. Its smaller screen compared with the Ultra could make it an alternative for buyers looking for flagship performance in a more compact device.

The reported camera configuration includes a 200MP primary sensor alongside 50MP ultrawide and telephoto cameras. The device is also expected to use Samsung’s Exynos 2700 chipset in most markets.

Other anticipated specifications include at least 12GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage and a battery capacity of approximately 5,200mAh. The phone could also support 60W wired charging.

One notable difference from the Ultra is the expected absence of an S Pen. This could help Samsung maintain a clearer distinction between the two premium models, particularly for customers who use the stylus for productivity and note-taking.

However, these hardware details and pricing figures remain reported expectations rather than officially confirmed specifications.

Can the Galaxy S27 Pro Strengthen Samsung’s Flagship Business?

The success of the Galaxy S27 Pro could depend heavily on how Samsung positions it against the Plus and Ultra models.

At a reported starting price of $1,399, the Pro would offer a premium alternative without requiring buyers to pay the full Ultra price. The built-in privacy display could become one of its strongest selling points, particularly for consumers who value screen privacy.

However, the narrow pricing difference could make the decision between the Pro and Ultra more complicated. Buyers may prefer spending an additional $100 on the Ultra if its exclusive features justify the difference.

For Samsung, the challenge will be to make the S27 Pro attractive enough to increase premium smartphone sales without weakening demand for its existing top-end model.

With OLED panel production expected to begin in November 2026, the Galaxy S27 Pro is shaping up to be a significant addition to Samsung’s 2027 flagship strategy.
