The company was established by Eshwar K Vikas and Rakesh Patil in August 2024. Vikas, an electrical engineer and entrepreneur and his Co-Founder, Rakesh Patil, and Chief Technology Officer at Beyond Appliances saw an opportunity to transform this key segment in the Indian market.

“Our journey is deeply rooted in a fundamental observation that has intrigued me for years–the Indian kitchen, a space where families spend 2-3 critical hours daily, has remained largely untouched by meaningful technological innovation.”, says Vikas.

Innovative Product Offerings

Smart kitchen appliances offered by Beyond Appliances that incorporate advanced features to improve functionality and convenience.

  • Android-Powered Chimneys: These chimneys come equipped with a 7-inch display that functions as a kitchen management system, allowing users to access OTT apps, set reminders, and create grocery lists through integrated applications like Zepto and Blinkit.
  • Smart Hobs: Their hobs feature digital timers, whistle counters, and safety mechanisms such as Flame Failure Detection (FFD), ensuring a safer cooking environment.
  • Chimneys with High Suction Capacity: Models like the Orion Chimney boast a suction capacity of up to 1600 CMH, making them efficient for modern kitchens.

At an average selling price of Rs 14,999 for its products, it is positioned in the category of a premium yet accessible brand.

Beyond Appliances say that their products are meant for they wear and tear of the Indian kitchen. “Our timer-controlled cooking features, auto-ignition systems and entertainment capabilities are engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of Indian kitchens. We are developing intelligent systems that can learn cooking patterns, provide recipe recommendations, manage ingredient inventories and potentially even guide consumers through complex cooking processes.”, states Vikas.

Funding and Future Plans

In November 2024, the company raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by Fireside Venture Investment Fund III. This funding is aimed at enhancing their technology development and manufacturing capabilities. The round also saw participation from Dharana Capital and angel investors, including Shezan Bhojani (Founder, Design Cafe), Saurabh Jain and Ramakant Sharma (Co-Founders, Livspace), and Chandru Kalro (Former CEO, TTK Prestige).

Availability and Accessibility

Beyond Appliances products are available through major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart, as well as select retail stores across Bangalore. Beyond Appliances has established a presence across major metropolitan cities, with a customer base of over 1,500 users. Vikas reveals that their sales strategy, which leverages 90% e-commerce channels and selective retail partnerships, allows them to reach tech-savvy consumers efficiently.
