Travis Kelce waited until Week 2 to reach the end zone this season, and Taylor Swift made sure nobody missed it. When the Kansas City Chiefs tight end scored in the first quarter against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night, NBC’s cameras caught Swift pointing to her wedding ring and shouting, “That’s my husband!”
How the touchdown happened
It was at this moment that Patrick Mahomes noticed Kelce going to the right side after turning over possession. Kelce made the reception and ran into the end zone from there in GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. It was referred to by OutKick as vintage play as seen by Chiefs fans for many years.
Swift watched from a suite with her father, Scott Swift, her mother, Andrea Swift, and her mother-in-law, Donna Kelce, as an AP photo caption from the first half shows. The clip of her ring gesture spread quickly on X after the account Bussin’ With The Boys posted it.
The Chiefs’ season so far
Kelce is 36, an 11-time Pro Bowler and a three-time Super Bowl champion. In the Chiefs’ 31-10 win over the Denver Broncos the week before, he had three catches for 71 yards on five targets, which made Sunday’s score his first touchdown of the year.
Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden earlier this summer. Their relationship went public nearly three years ago, when she showed up at a Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears, and she has been a regular at Arrowhead since.
The $40 tank top
Swift’s outfit got as much attention as the touchdown. She wore a plain red tank top covered in Chiefs branding, designed by broadcaster Erin Andrews. It sold for $40 on the Chiefs’ website and is now out of stock. Yahoo Entertainment reported that resale listings have already reached $100 or more. The reason for the sell-out has not been stated, though the obvious guess is fans wanting the same top Swift wore.
Andrews, a FOX Sports sideline reporter, thanked Swift on Instagram. “Find a girlfriend that supports you like mine!” she wrote, before praising Swift’s smile, her ring and the outfit itself, tagging her line, Wear by Erin Andrews.
Andrews launched the line in 2019 to fill a gap in officially licensed team gear that women could wear as everyday clothing. It now has more than 200 official partnerships across the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL.
So the ring got two moments on Sunday night. Swift pointed to it during the touchdown, and Andrews praised it afterward.
