Tesla has raised the prices of two Cybertruck variants in the United States by $5,000, pushing the electric pickup further into the premium price segment at a time when the model continues to face questions over consumer demand.

The price changes took effect on August 25, with Tesla increasing the price of the Dual Motor Cybertruck from $69,990 to $74,990. The Premium All-Wheel Drive version has also become more expensive, rising from $79,990 to $84,990. The top-end Cyberbeast remains unchanged at $99,990.

Two Cybertruck variants get a fresh price tag

The latest adjustment affects two of the three Cybertruck versions sold in the US. Tesla has not announced a corresponding major specification change alongside the higher prices.

The increase is the latest in a series of pricing changes for the electric pickup since its launch in 2023. Tesla has repeatedly adjusted Cybertruck prices as it has sought to establish the vehicle in the highly competitive US pickup market.

Earlier in 2026, Tesla briefly introduced a lower-priced Dual Motor version at $59,990. CEO Elon Musk said at the time that the promotional price would remain available for only 10 days. The price was later raised to $69,990 before the latest $5,000 increase.

Cybertruck pricing has changed repeatedly

Tesla’s latest move highlights how dramatically Cybertruck pricing has shifted since the company began delivering the vehicle.

The pickup was originally presented as a futuristic alternative to conventional trucks, but the production versions have been positioned at considerably higher prices than the figures discussed when the Cybertruck was first unveiled.

The company also raised the price of the range-topping Cyberbeast by $15,000 in August 2025, taking it to $114,990. Tesla reversed that increase in February 2026, bringing the Cyberbeast back down to $99,990.

The newest increase therefore leaves the Cyberbeast unchanged while making the two lower-priced versions more expensive.

Sales remain a concern for the electric pickup

The latest price increase comes as Tesla’s Cybertruck continues to face challenges in sustaining consumer interest.

Reuters reported that the model has struggled to maintain momentum since its 2023 launch and has faced multiple recalls and quality-control issues. Tesla has also repeatedly changed its pricing, adding another layer of uncertainty around the vehicle’s position in the market.

The broader sales picture also shows why the Cybertruck remains under scrutiny. According to Tesla’s second-quarter 2026 delivery report, all models outside the Model 3 and Model Y accounted for 12,364 deliveries during the quarter. That figure included the Cybertruck along with other vehicles, meaning Tesla does not separately disclose Cybertruck deliveries in its official quarterly report.

Higher prices put the spotlight back on demand

The decision to increase prices is notable because Tesla is raising the entry point rather than cutting it while the Cybertruck continues to face questions about demand.

At $74,990, the Dual Motor version is now $15,000 more expensive than the temporary $59,990 price offered earlier this year. The Premium AWD model has also moved above the $80,000 mark.

For potential buyers, the latest adjustment makes the Cybertruck a more expensive proposition and further reinforces its position as a premium electric pickup.

Tesla has not publicly explained the reason for the latest $5,000 increases. As a result, the impact of the new pricing on demand will be closely watched as the company continues selling the Cybertruck in the US.

For now, the price change marks another significant turn in Tesla’s approach to its distinctive electric pickup. With the Dual Motor model now starting at $74,990, the Cybertruck enters the next phase of its market journey with a higher price tag and continued questions over how strongly consumers will respond.
