Apple may be preparing to hold the line on the entry price of the iPhone 18 Pro, but buyers looking beyond the base storage option could face a very different bill.
Leaked pricing figures suggest the iPhone 18 Pro could start at $999 in the US, with 128GB of storage remaining the entry-level configuration. That would keep the headline price below the four-figure mark, even as higher-capacity versions are tipped to become more expensive.
The figures have not been confirmed by Apple and should be treated as leaked pricing rather than official launch information.
What makes the leak more interesting is not the unchanged $999 figure. It is the widening cost of moving up the storage ladder.
Storage could become the real price story
The leaked pricing structure lists the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro at $1,149, compared with $1,099 in the comparison pricing shown for the previous Pro generation. That represents a $50 increase.
The gap becomes larger further up the range.
A 512GB iPhone 18 Pro is listed at $1,399, while the 1TB configuration reaches $1,649. The figures represent increases of $100 and $150 respectively over the comparison prices presented for those storage tiers.
If those numbers hold, a buyer choosing the 1TB model would be paying $650 more than the leaked $999 starting price.
That difference gives the pricing story a different shape. Apple could technically preserve the familiar entry point while allowing the cost of a more generously equipped Pro model to move considerably higher.
The leaked lineup is presented as follows:
| Storage | Comparison price | Leaked iPhone 18 Pro price | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 128GB | $999 | $999 | $0 |
| 256GB | $1,099 | $1,149 | $50 |
| 512GB | $1,299 | $1,399 | $100 |
| 1TB | $1,499 | $1,649 | $150 |
| 2TB | Not listed | $1,899 | New tier |
The most notable addition is a 2TB option priced at $1,899, according to the leaked figures. The comparison table does not list a corresponding 2TB model for the previous Pro generation.
The $999 price comes with a 128GB question
Keeping the starting price unchanged would be an easy headline for the iPhone 18 Pro, but the leak also suggests Apple may continue offering just 128GB at that price.
That matters because the value of the base model will depend on how much storage buyers actually need. The pricing information points to a relatively modest $150 jump from 128GB to 256GB, but moving to 512GB would take the purchase price to $1,399.
For buyers who routinely choose larger storage capacities, the stable $999 starting price would therefore tell only part of the story.
The material accompanying the leak also raises storage demands from high-resolution video and on-device AI features as possible reasons buyers may pay closer attention to capacity. However, it does not provide any official Apple figures for the storage requirements of the iPhone 18 Pro or its software features, so those considerations remain separate from the leaked pricing itself.
A familiar entry price, a steeper premium at the top
Taken strictly on the leaked numbers, Apple would be pursuing two pricing directions at once.
At the bottom of the range, the 128GB iPhone 18 Pro would remain at $999.
At the top, the 1TB model would climb to $1,649, while the newly listed 2TB configuration would take the Pro line close to $1,900.
That creates a wider spread between the phone advertised at the starting price and the versions intended for buyers who want substantially more local storage.
For many customers, that distinction could matter more than whether the base model crosses the $1,000 threshold.
Nothing is official yet
The pricing should not be mistaken for Apple’s final retail structure.
The information currently available describes the $999 starting price, the continued 128GB base storage and the increases across higher-capacity models as leaked or rumored figures. Apple pricing, storage configurations and availability could still differ when the company formally announces the device.
