Apple’s next-generation Pro iPhones could be just weeks away, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max widely expected to arrive in September 2026. Apple has yet to announce an official launch date, but recent reports suggest the company could introduce the new Pro models alongside its first foldable iPhone.
The launch strategy could also mark a change from Apple’s usual iPhone schedule. While the Pro models are expected to debut this year, the standard iPhone 18 is reportedly being delayed until 2027.
September Launch Could Bring a Major Change
According to a report from MacRumors published on August 23, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to launch next month. Other reports have also pointed toward a September 2026 unveiling, with September 9 widely tipped as a possible date for Apple’s next major iPhone event.
However, Apple has not confirmed the event date, so the September 9 date remains unconfirmed.
Apple could also take a different approach to its iPhone lineup this year. Reports suggest the company may introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max together with its first foldable iPhone in September. The regular iPhone 18, meanwhile, is reportedly expected to follow in 2027.
A20 Pro Could Bring a New Level of Efficiency
One of the most significant expected upgrades is the processor. The iPhone 18 Pro models are reportedly set to feature Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chip.
Reports have suggested that the processor could be manufactured using TSMC’s 2nm process. A move to a smaller manufacturing process could potentially improve performance and power efficiency, although Apple has not confirmed the chip or its technical specifications.
The new Pro models are also expected to receive more RAM. Longer battery life has been mentioned in reports as another possible improvement, but Apple has not officially confirmed these details.
Dynamic Island May Become Smaller
The Dynamic Island is expected to remain part of the iPhone 18 Pro design, although reports suggest Apple could make it smaller than the version found on current-generation models.
At the same time, a fully under-display Face ID system is not expected to arrive with this generation, according to MacRumors. This suggests that Apple could continue refining the existing front-facing design rather than making a complete change to the display and authentication system.
The camera system could also receive an important upgrade. A variable-aperture main camera has been widely tipped for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Such a system would allow greater control over the amount of light entering the lens, potentially giving users more flexibility when taking photographs.
It remains unclear whether the variable-aperture camera will be available on both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Price Details Remain Unconfirmed
Apple has not announced pricing for either Pro model. However, reports have raised the possibility that higher memory and component costs could push prices upward.
The Economic Times reported that leaks have pointed to a possible price increase of between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 20,000 in India. These figures are estimates based on reported information and should not be treated as Apple’s confirmed pricing.
With the expected September launch approaching, more details about the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could emerge before Apple officially unveils the devices. For now, the launch date, final specifications and Indian pricing remain unconfirmed.
