Kolkata-based spiritual and devotion platform Utsav has raised Rs 36 crore in a Series A funding round led by Atomic Capital. Existing investors India Quotient and Equanimity Investments also participated in the latest round as the startup looks to expand its temple network, strengthen technology and fulfilment, and grow its team.

The fresh funding takes Utsav’s total capital raised to Rs 42 crore. The company had previously raised Rs 6.35 crore in an earlier funding round in 2025.

Fresh Capital to Drive Utsav’s Next Growth Phase

Utsav plans to deploy the new capital across several areas of its business. The startup will focus on expanding its network of temples, improving its technology infrastructure and strengthening its fulfilment capabilities.

The company also plans to increase its workforce as it expands its services. Over the next 12 to 24 months, Utsav intends to invest in personalisation, discovery, logistics and fulfilment while broadening the range of devotional services available through its platform.

The funding comes as the startup works to build a larger digital ecosystem connecting devotees with temples and religious service providers.

Connecting Devotees With Temples and Religious Services

Founded by Sourajit Basu, Ankita De and Prajata Samanta, Utsav works with temple priests, scholars and acharyas to provide devotional services through its platform.

Its offerings include puja bookings, pujari consultations, e-prasad, consecrated prasad and personalised rituals. Through these services, the platform enables devotees to access religious experiences and temple-related services through a digital interface.

The company’s model combines technology with services traditionally arranged through direct interactions with temples, priests and religious practitioners.

Revenue Grows Eightfold Since Previous Funding

Utsav said its revenue has grown eightfold since its previous funding round of Rs 6.35 crore in 2025. The startup currently fulfils around 2.5 lakh orders every month.

The reported growth has come alongside an expansion in the company’s service offerings and customer activity. With the latest funding, Utsav plans to strengthen the operational infrastructure needed to support its growing order volumes.

Fulfilment is particularly important for the company because its offerings include consecrated prasad and other services that require coordination between devotees, temples and delivery operations.

Aiming to Reach Devotees Beyond India

Utsav is also looking to expand its services for the Indian diaspora. The company aims to enable devotees living outside India to participate in rituals conducted at temples across the country.

This initiative is expected to form part of the startup’s broader expansion strategy as it looks beyond its domestic customer base. By connecting overseas devotees with temples in India, Utsav intends to make religious services more accessible to people who may not be able to visit temples in person.

The company’s plans include expanding its temple network and adding more services while improving the overall experience for users.

Balancing Technology With Religious Authenticity

For Utsav, scaling its digital platform also involves maintaining the traditional character of devotional experiences.

Co-founder and CEO Sourajit Basu said the company aims to make devotional experiences more accessible without compromising their authenticity and sanctity. This approach remains central to Utsav’s positioning as it expands its technology, temple partnerships and service portfolio.

The startup plans to continue investing in personalisation and discovery so that devotees can find services and rituals that suit their individual requirements.

Competition Builds Across Spiritual-Tech Space

Utsav operates in an increasingly digital spiritual and religious services segment. The startup competes with platforms including Vama.app, AppsForBharat, Astrotalk, Astroyogi and DevDham, among others.

While these companies operate across different parts of the broader spiritual-tech ecosystem, Utsav focuses on temple services, puja bookings, consultations, prasad and personalised rituals.

The latest Series A gives Utsav additional capital to expand this offering while strengthening the technology and fulfilment systems supporting its operations.

Utsav’s Next 12 to 24 Months

With Rs 36 crore in fresh funding, Utsav’s immediate focus will be on expanding its temple network, strengthening technology and fulfilment, and growing its team. The company also plans to invest in logistics, personalisation and service discovery over the next 12 to 24 months.

Its reported eightfold revenue growth and monthly fulfilment of around 2.5 lakh orders provide the base for its next phase of expansion. The company will now look to scale these operations while continuing to connect devotees in India and abroad with temples and devotional services.
