Quintrans, a deep tech engineering startup focused on building India-developed direct-drive linear motion systems, has raised $750,000 in a pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Capital-A, with participation from Sumeet Kabra of RR Global, SanchiConnect, AIC-Pinnacle, existing partner IIMA Ventures, and other investors. The funding marks an important step for the Pune-based company as it prepares to move from development to early commercial deployment.
Funding Aimed at Manufacturing Readiness and Core Team Expansion
The newly raised capital will be used to set up an in-house manufacturing and advanced testing facility in Pune. Quintrans also plans to accelerate research and development across electromagnetic actuation technologies while strengthening its core engineering and operations teams. These efforts are intended to support the company’s upcoming commercial rollout and ensure tighter control over quality, performance, and scalability.
By bringing manufacturing and testing capabilities in-house, the startup aims to shorten development cycles and improve reliability across its product portfolio. The expansion of its engineering and operations teams is expected to play a key role in translating laboratory-grade innovation into deployable industrial solutions.

Founders with a Focus on Engineering-Led Innovation
Founded in 2021 by Pranay Luniya, Kartik Kulkarni, Aniruddha Atigre, and Prasanna Kadambi, Quintrans was established with a clear engineering-first philosophy. The founding team set out to address long-standing limitations in conventional motion systems used across industrial automation and robotics.
The company develops direct-drive electromagnetic linear motion systems designed for high-performance industrial environments. These systems are engineered to deliver frictionless, high-speed, and ultra-precise motion, making them suitable for applications such as robotics, warehouse automation, and advanced manufacturing equipment.
Technology Designed for Precision and Performance
At the heart of Quintrans is the company’s direct-drive linear motion technology that pretty much does away with the mechanical side of things that are usually complex in a traditional motion system. Electromagnetic actuation being the only means their products use, the firm intends that the result will be less wear and tear as well as the possibility of achieving a smoother and more accurate motion control will be given.
This approach is particularly relevant in modern industrial settings where precision, speed, and reliability directly influence productivity. The startup’s systems are designed to operate in demanding environments where consistent performance is critical for automation-driven operations.
India’s Growing Actuator Market Creates Opportunity
The startup is operating in a market that is showing strong growth momentum. As per market research cited by the company, India manufactured and sold approximately 6.8 million actuators in FY 2022. This number is expected to rise to around 10 to 11 million units by FY 2026.
Such is the case of the demand growth that the sectors of automotive manufacturing, industrial automation, heating, and ventilation systems, and marine applications are acting as a rallying point. The industrial trend of automation and the use of cutting-edge machines inevitably lead to the escalating requirement of efficient and accurate motion systems. This, in turn, opens up a vast potential for local engineering-driven solutions to meet this demand.
Integrated Design Model Targets Cost and Customization
According to Quintrans, its design and manufacturing model is built to deliver cost efficiency, customized deployments, and dependable service support. The company develops hardware and control electronics entirely in-house, allowing it to offer customers a fully integrated solution rather than fragmented components.
This integrated approach enables closer alignment between mechanical design, electronics, and software control, which can be critical for high-performance industrial use cases. It also allows the startup to tailor its systems to specific operational requirements without compromising on reliability or long-term serviceability.
Support from an Industrial Technology Accelerator
Quintrans is a hardware and industrial technology startup, which is part of MaXcel – an accelerator run by Capital-A and SanchiConnect. The program is designed to support startups that are developing engineering-led solutions for manufacturing and industrial technology. By participating in MaXcel, companies gain access to mentorship, industry networks, and ecosystem support, all of which are tailored to hardware-focused ventures.
As Quintrans is going to the next stage of its development, the support from investors and accelerator partners will, therefore, be instrumental in helping the company not only to strengthen its technical capabilities but also to get ready for a wider adoption of the industrial sectors.
Quintrans is setting itself up to be a significant player in the Indian industrial automation sector through local deep tech innovation with a new fund in hand and a well-defined manufacturing readiness strategy.
