MacRitchie Investments sold 3.56 crore Lenskart shares, reducing its direct holding from 4.26% to 2.21%. Temasek continues to own a wider 4.75% stake through affiliated entities.

Temasek-backed MacRitchie Investments has reduced its direct holding in Lenskart Solutions after selling a 2.05% stake in the eyewear retailer through open-market transactions.

The Singapore-based investor divested 3.56 crore shares on July 10, bringing its direct stake in Lenskart down to 2.21% from 4.26%, according to the company’s July 14 exchange filing.

The filing did not disclose the consideration received from the transaction. Based on Lenskart’s closing price of Rs 544 on July 10, the shares sold were worth approximately Rs 1,940 crore, or about $204 million.

The transaction does not represent a complete exit by Temasek. Following the sale, the investor continues to hold an aggregate 4.75% interest in Lenskart through MacRitchie Investments and affiliated entities Jongsong Investments and V-Sciences Investments.

Lenskart investors continue to monetise holdings

Temasek’s stake reduction follows a series of secondary-market transactions involving some of Lenskart’s major institutional shareholders after the company’s listing.

SoftBank sold shares worth Rs 2,873 crore last month, while ADIA-backed Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust divested a 2.3% holding for Rs 1,960 crore. Both transactions drew strong demand from institutional investors.

The recent sales indicate that large early investors are gradually monetising portions of their holdings while retaining exposure to the eyewear company.

Lenskart reports strong quarterly growth

Founded by Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi, Lenskart operates through both online and offline channels. The company has thousands of stores across India and international markets and manufactures eyewear through its in-house facilities.

In the fourth quarter of FY26, Lenskart reported revenue of Rs 2,516 crore, representing year-on-year growth of 46%. The company posted a profit of Rs 204 crore during the quarter.

At noon on July 14, Lenskart shares were trading at around Rs 538.90. The company’s market capitalisation stood at approximately Rs 93,639 crore, equivalent to about $9.85 billion.

Temasek’s latest transaction places it alongside SoftBank and ADIA among the prominent Lenskart shareholders that have recently converted part of their holdings into cash. Its remaining 4.75% interest, however, means the investor continues to participate in the company’s future performance.
