Electric motorcycle manufacturer Oben Electric has successfully closed its Series A funding round at ₹100 crore (approximately $12 million). The round, which began in January 2025, was extended to include a fresh ₹50 crore raise in May, taking the company’s total capital raised to ₹200 crore ($24 million) since inception.
New and Existing Investors Show Continued Confidence
The latest funding tranche saw participation from a mix of new and returning investors, including Helios Holdings, the Sharda family office, and the Kay family, further validating the company’s long-term vision and execution capabilities.

Expansion Plans: 150+ Showrooms by FY26
The company to use the capital infusion to rapidly scale retail and manufacturing, particularly:
- Expanding its retail presence to over 150 showrooms across 50 Indian cities by FY26
- Enhancing production capacity at its Bengaluru-based manufacturing facility
- Accelerating R&D and product development under its new ‘O100’ platform, which aims to deliver electric motorcycles priced under ₹1 lakh
- Strengthening after-sales service through the growing Oben Care ecosystem
The 100 platform reflects Oben’s strategy to target mass-market consumers looking for affordable, high-performance electric bikes.
Manufacturing Powerhouse in Bengaluru
Oben’s state of the art manufacturing facility is located in Jigani, Bengaluru, with an annual capacity to produce 100,000 units. This plant is supported by a network of 150+ vendor partners and enables complete in-house development of:
- LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries
- Electric motors
- Vehicle control units (VCUs)
- Home fast chargers
This vertical integration strategy gives Oben a competitive edge by ensuring quality control, faster innovation cycles, and reduced dependency on external suppliers.
Rapid Retail Footprint Across India
Since its initial Series A raise in January 2025, Oben has expanded its retail footprint to 37 showrooms across 26 cities in 13 Indian states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh.
This expansion aligns with India’s growing demand for electric two-wheelers, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where electric mobility adoption is surging due to rising fuel costs and improved EV infrastructure.

Oben Electric’s flagship models Rorr and the newly launched Rorr EZ are equipped with industry-leading technology:
- Rorr EZ is priced at ₹99,999 (ex-showroom) and offers:
- 0-40 km/h acceleration in 3.3 seconds
- Top speed of 95 km/h
- IDC-certified range of 175 km per charge
- The models use LFP battery technology, known for enhanced safety, thermal stability, and longer life cycles making them ideal for Indian weather and traffic conditions.
Oben also holds over 25 patents and performs 200+ performance tests on each unit, underscoring its engineering focus.
Facing the Competition with Innovation
Oben is embroiled in the fast-growing electric motorcycle segment in India, competing with Tork Motors and other startups, as well as traditional OEMs entering the EV space. Oben’s deep tech approach and full-stack manufacturing capabilities offer unique advantages here.
