HireBound, a recruitment-tech startup building AI agents to automate hiring tasks, has raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by Kalaari Capital, with participation from Antler, Infinyte Club, and CareerNet.
The Gurugram-based company says it will use the fresh capital to step up product development, expand go-to-market operations, and accelerate international expansion over the next 12-24 months. It is also targeting a 5x increase in ARR over the next 12-18 months.
What HireBound is building?
HireBound was founded in 2024 by Sharad Vij and Kumar Vikramaditya, and it develops and maintains AI agents that automate most of the recruitment process.

The tool works through email, WhatsApp, SMS, and voice, and it is compatible with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and human resource management system (HRMS) software, and it is positioned as a layer that sits on top of existing HR systems.
In plain terms: HireBound is betting that recruiters don’t need yet another database to “store” candidates, they need software that does the repetitive work recruiters spend hours on daily, while humans focus on judgement and relationship-building.
Where the $2 million will go?
Beyond growth, HireBound is planning a product push around its “agentic” AI engine, technology it says can autonomously handle a bigger slice of the recruiting lifecycle across roles, geographies, and channels, while also deepening integrations and analytics.
On the business side, the startup says it will expand sales, delivery, and customer success to support staffing firms, recruitment partners, and enterprise clients through SaaS and managed hiring models, and also make hires across engineering, AI/ML, and operations.
Early traction, by the numbers
HireBound says its platform has powered over three million candidate conversations and is trained on 2 million+ resumes and 30,000+ job openings, with the aim of producing qualified, interview-ready candidates while reducing recruiter workload.
The company currently has a 15-member team spanning product, engineering, AI/ML, delivery, and go-to-market roles.
What the founders and investor are saying
Co-founder Sharad Vij argues the category is stuck because many ATS products behave like passive record-keeping tools, not systems that actively drive outcomes.
“Recruitment today is still heavily manual, fragmented, and slow. Traditional ATS systems are systems of record, not systems of action. HireBound changes that,” Vij said, adding that the company’s “agentic AI doesn’t just track candidates, it engages, screens, evaluates, and delivers outcomes.”
Co-founder Kumar Vikramaditya frames the product as “recruiting in the AI-first world,” where AI agents handle high-touch tasks across sourcing, engagement and evaluation, continuously learning from hiring signals and feedback.
At the same time, he underlined that the heart of hiring still needs humans: “We’ve given recruiters AI agents to automate the admin work they handle day in and day out. But the core responsibility remains human: identifying the right talent and building genuine connections,” he said.
From the lead investor, Jayraj Bharat Patel (AVP, Kalaari Capital) said Kalaari sees HireBound as building “the execution layer that recruiting has been missing,” pointing to the startup’s “agentic architecture and recruiter-first design” for high-velocity and multi-location hiring.
HireBound had previously raised $348,000 in funding from investors including Antler.
