Dextr AI, an artificial intelligence platform built for the hospitality industry, has raised $6.7 million in a seed funding round led by Elevation Capital, with participation from Foundation Capital.

Co-founded by Sajid Shariff and Angel Kelchev, the startup plans to put the fresh capital towards product development, expanding its team and taking its technology to more hospitality businesses across markets, including India. Founded in 2025 by Sajid Shariff and Scott Arnold, Dextr AI is developing specialised AI agents designed around the day-to-day operational needs of hotels and resorts.

Rather than focusing on a single hotel function, the company is using AI across several parts of the hospitality workflow. Its agents can support guest experience, reservations, staff operations, sales and marketing, areas where hotels routinely have to manage large numbers of calls, requests and operational tasks.

That approach has already put the platform into hundreds of properties, spanning independent hotels and resorts as well as franchised properties. Dextr AI currently operates across the US, Canada, the UK and Europe, including properties operating under Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western and IHG brands.

More than a million interactions every month

One of the more notable indicators of Dextr AI’s current scale is the volume of activity moving through its platform.

The company processes more than one million interactions each month. It also handles tens of millions of dollars in monthly phone reservation payments, giving its AI systems a role not just in answering enquiries but also in revenue-linked customer interactions.

The startup is targeting some of the routine problems that can directly affect hotel operations, including missed calls, unanswered guest enquiries, unfilled shifts and pending guest requests.

For reservation centres, Dextr AI says deployments using a single voice-based system across multiple use cases have delivered returns of 49x to 67x. These figures are reported by the company and should be read as deployment-level claims rather than independently verified industry benchmarks.

Doss Gen 1 brings hotel staff into the AI workflow

Alongside the fundraise, Dextr AI is also introducing Doss Gen 1, a new command layer through which hotel employees can manage the company’s AI workforce using natural-language instructions.

Staff will be able to interact with the system through either text or voice. Doss Gen 1 also includes role-based permissions, audit trails and controls that can be applied across a portfolio of properties, features aimed at hospitality operators managing AI systems across larger organisations.

The product adds another layer to Dextr AI’s strategy. Instead of limiting AI to individual guest-facing tasks, the company is building tools that allow hotel teams to supervise and coordinate several AI-driven functions from a common interface.

For hospitality companies, that could make the technology relevant across both customer-facing and internal operations, from handling reservation calls to coordinating staff activity and responding to guest requests.

The $6.7 million seed round gives Dextr AI additional capital to develop that model further while expanding the team behind it and increasing deployments in existing and new hospitality markets.

For a company founded only in 2025, its next phase will centre on turning the volume already moving through its platform into a broader operational presence across hotels, with India included among the markets it plans to address.
